I doubt that IB can easily see, through their API, that a button push (or a popup window close) is by a finger/keyboard, or by an app running. And since "OPT" is a valid type for API Order methods, it seems that the rule is not enforced. Probably someone attempting to send in many API option...

No it actually works fine using the IB API. But then I was collecting the underlying quotes, not the option quotes, and running a valuation calc before sending in the limit orders to buy/sell the ops. It was really an effort to swing trade the options based on the underlying...

It's easy enough to do with the Interactive Brokers API. It's been a while since I did it, but you used to have to slow down consecutive orders or you would get a "pacing violation".

Shouldn't be a big deal if it is not open and or easy to figure out. Surf may actually have good intentions, I don't know, but in most of his posts trading decisions are referenced as "We" think, etc. Do the "we" people also have good intentions? And when it comes to money, nobody can be...

You know, of course, that much of what Surfy is doing is to try and incite you to "prove" that you have a successful method. What do you think will happen to your system after it is "checked and tested?" So now here is Prof sending along his stuff...

I suspect that 90% of the "Does IB rip off their customers..." type threads started here are from jealous competitors, or clueless traders. I do think that the OP here had a legitimate question, though. But the idea that IB/TH would risk a billion dollar operation to steal trader's nickles...
