Personally I believe arbitrage is more powerful and consistent than trend following kind of ways, and most of the FI uses arbitrage more than trend following.

FI makes money from commission but that is not all they do. Just look at how big % few groups control in all kind of markets would let you know few main financial power try to win money from each other is the main games. Psychology is not a big deal since market big or small movememts are not...

not surprise at all. But we cannot really do hft so can be less godlike math.

it is true that trader job is one of the most difficult jobs to get, especially with pretty bad econ and gov has more restriction on what banks can do with their money.
