QuoteTracker To Be Finished End of 2011

There is simply no comparison. QT for example you can have a 1 min-1day timeframe tick based (unconsolidated line) chart. So you can use any timeframe, and still display all ticks. If you still do not understand what this means (and this is really unique for QT), it means that you can have a...

QuoteTracker To Be Finished End of 2011

It all depends on your platform, and on what you want to do. QT is rock solid and robust on Linux, whereas AmiBroker is not. I like Amibroker, but on Linux (and perhaps even on Windoof's - have never tried) is rather shaky. Additionally, QT is superb for charting, whereas AmiBroker is...

1/4% Tax on all stock trades pushed in NY Times today

Yes, it seems. I have read it on several places, including that "Cameron would have accepted the treaty change if it had not included the FTT" The only ones I remember at the moment are the following: http://www.bbc.co.uk/news/16131346 "Many in the British government and Parliament had...

1/4% Tax on all stock trades pushed in NY Times today

I do hope you are right. But I am a little bit more pessimistic. The 85% proposal (even if it is "only" a proposal) is there for a reason. The only country that opposed the treaty on this summit was UK. The reason given, why the "treaty" was unacceptable for them was exactly about the FTT...

1/4% Tax on all stock trades pushed in NY Times today

It's easy. As soon as the "treaty" is ratified by them, the new qualified majority rule (85%) will be binding for them. Effectively they give up their sovereignity. They will have no chance to veto it any more.

1/4% Tax on all stock trades pushed in NY Times today

Yes, they are stigmatized. I wonder if this all is not a tramp set up by Germany and France. They deliberately made conditions they knew the UK could never accept. They fully know that the FTT will have devastating consequencies on the EU economy. But in that case they will be able to put...

1/4% Tax on all stock trades pushed in NY Times today

They might not want to accept an FTT, but this new treaty includes a clause that in future it would be enough to have a majority of 85% of the participating countries in order to take a binding decision.. In this way a veto would not be possible any more, and they'd have to comply any way.

    IB 'Ideal' Forex, extreme slippage

IB is not good at all for tiny odd lots. Use it for strategies with higher lots involved. For tiny lots Oanda is much better. IB FX trading is excellent as soon as you are able to use IDEALPRO sizes.

This is the party of that stupid Aznar who was so eager to take part in Bush's Iraq war. It's a shame there are no sane alternatives.

1/4% Tax on all stock trades pushed in NY Times today

Hi tortoise Great work! One thing that maybe could be good to mention is that this "teeny-tiny" tax will actually be paid much more than once by the enduser, so the proposed 0.1% would turn out to be effectively like 1% for the investing retail client. I remember having read an article...

Not strictly about FTT, but an interview with Nigel Farage about the insanity of Euro economy and politics. http://rt.com/news/greece-portugal-serbia-revolution-727/

1/4% Tax on all stock trades pushed in NY Times today

She is right in attributing the debt crisis to a lack of economic competitiveness, but fails to aknowledge that this "lack of economic competitiveness built up over decades" is a direct result of the creation of the Eurozone based on such diverging economies like those of Germany, France and...

1/4% Tax on all stock trades pushed in NY Times today

Your numbers are correct, but you seem to ignore that it is 0.01%, meaning 1/100 of 1%. 1/100 of 1% of 60k = 6 Just for the sake of correctness, but of course I am completely against FTT. 6 on 60k, ie. 12 RT would kill immediately all daytraders.

Aggressive people are better traders !!!

This is the beauty of trading. Trading is soooo simple and easy. Just get high on cocaine, than you get arrogant and immensly sef-confident. So you can only win -- can't you?

Aggressive people are better traders !!!

HAHA Quite a stupid topic :p I'd say: Aggressive people are aggressive traders. Good people are good traders. Isn't it easy? Let's collect some more stereotypes: Aggressive people are impatient. Impatience makes you lose as a trader. Impatient (aggressive) traders are...

How do you recover from a 80% loss?

Open an Oanda account, where there is no fixed lot size, so you can learn to control your effective leverage. Go tiny at first, and learn to control your risk: use stops that produce 2% loss of your account at the most on any individual trade. If you learn to use leverage in a sensible way and...
