The students with a brain in their head (and there are a few) realize fully well that their student debt won't be paid off that easily. The expectation was that that debt would be an investment toward a job that would later on easily allow you to pay off that given debt within a year or two...

Trading options on stocks is the eqivalent of packing penny stock level risk into the underlying (and then some). You are adding timing, liquidity, volatility, expiration risk... Plus the market makers can really play games with you.

In order for any serious bull market to occur, 20 has to be broken on the VIX. So far all I see are dojis on the high TFs and momentum gathering to on the lower TFs... does not look good.

You may very well be right. We have also closed that nasty Oct 2008 gap. And indeed, if the 20MA acts as support for too long, the market can get oversold very quickly. There is also a fundamental divergence between the state of the economy in 2003-2004 and now and the levels on the SPY...
