    Ralph Nader conservative

http://www.nader.org/index.php?/archives/2101-Tax-The-Speculators.html Unfortunately, as evidenced in the above link, he supports the stock transaction tax discussed in the thread linked below. http://www.elitetrader.com/vb/showthread.php?s=&threadid=150546&perpage=6&pagenumber=1

O'bama is the hack I thought he was.

And to think, back in the 90's when the pubs regained the majority, they spoke of sharing power. They should learn to duplicate the fighting skills of the left...without becoming like them when in power, the regaining of which will most likely not happen again in many of our lifetimes.

    Pelosi has a jet?

Fair enough. Shouldn't she only use it in the utmost of need? In other words, fly like the rest of us when we are not in an emergency. And maybe congress should shut up about corporate jet use. They want to preach to failed companies about salary caps, and yet they fail to take any blame...

    Pelosi has a jet?

Why not have a jet? Since there is no check on power (uninformed voters, sycophant media, no real opposition party, etc...), these lifers develop an attitude of arrogance. High and mighty. So they treat themselves accordingly.

    Stimulus Plan

I personally believe Gov doing nothing is better than Gov doing something...especially when the dems have such a large majority. I think most of the stimulus in the house version is nothing but stimulus for supporters of the democratic party, and a move to increase dependence on the party.

    Stimulus Plan

Don't you think a cap gains tax cut would have more of an impact on this than a pile of bacon?

Actually, I was thinking the opposite on this part of your comment.

Dems Could Have 60 in Senate

Bonnie Newman will be his replacement. Maybe Gov Lynch is alright. I stand surpised (as are some dems from what I've read). She has said she will not seek to retain the seat in 2010.

    Stimulus Plan

That they know what's better for us than we do. It's called the Nanny State, and Pelosi is it's mother, Reid it's father.

    O'bama backs Daschle..........

I would say most will roll over (actually did in the election). They will turn on their TV, pop their cold one, and say "what happens in DC doesn't really have an effect me." And for a lot of people, that may actually be true. As far as the MSM? They have their noses firmly entrenched...

    O'bama backs Daschle..........

I was also willing to see how he governed, but the early indications are pretty clear. It's starting to feel like he is making a mockery of all those (including myself) who pay their bills, their taxes, and other dues to live an average life. I do think he gets it. Remember who he...

    Michael Phelps is a Pothead

It's a shame that he will most likely lose millions in endorsements for having a little fun. Add one more casualty to the list of the war on drugs. Anyone find it troubling that politicians can say they've done these things, yet they enjoy their nice fat salaries and all the...

Dems Could Have 60 in Senate

I guess the importance of this went unnoticed. I heard it said he would not take this position unless the governor promised to replace him with another republican. I hope he doesn't fall for that. If he were to believe the word of a democrat, he would be a fool. Remember...

Boehner, Republicans Vote Against Economic Recovery

Seems to me it's not the republicans getting played. The ones getting played are the ones who always get played.

Boehner, Republicans Vote Against Economic Recovery

They would have voted for it if a big percentage of the bill wasn't a giant liberal spend fest. Half the money spent in it won't do a thing for short term relief. If it does revive the economy, they will remain the minority (which they most likely will, anyway), but if the giant bill does...

    Is something not right?

http://online.wsj.com/article/SB123310466514522309.html Seems like quite a bit of non emergency pork to me. I'd give the repubs a passing grade for standing against this one. The bill was going to pass with or without them. Seems to me, and it's unfortunate, that they are only able to...

Why there isn't a new republican revolution...

The fascinating thing is that they are now becoming fiscally concerned. Where was that 4, 6, and even 8 years ago? At least they showed some balls, but no doubt it is a gamble. Didn't expect to see that. The success of the gamble will be commensurate with the success (or failure) of the...

Why there isn't a new republican revolution...

One thing is missing from the article. He failed to mention the pork in the package (with the exception of the wasteful spending bit).

Crash after 1/4% transaction tax? Don't bet on it!

Because if this bill HR676, Universal Healthcare, gains traction, the 1/4% stock transaction tax is one of the taxes that will pay for it. It was reintroduced into the 111th congress this month. It was also in this bill when it was first introduced in the 110th congress, with the transaction...
