Large Wall Mount High Res Display (TV)

Hi All, Asking Collective Wisdom for a recomendation. Thinking about a wall display, a single one, that could also function as a TV on a rare occasion. TV part is optional though. Have been TV-free for decades, but don't mind to watch a good theatre on occasion from online services. I have a...

    Desktop Trading Computers

Don't get discouraged.. yes, it may be an overkill, may be not: depends on your usage. I would strongly recommend to use nothing outside of trading. I see iTunes on my hedge fund friends' computers on occasion. Of course, I don't comment, even though I cringe. People tend to overvalue money and...

    MacBook Air with Multiple Monitors?

Ironic, but it used to be the other way around: I could easily have 4 monitors on a Mac in 90s. They totally squandered the edge, those Cupertino Cretins

Typical useful life of your trading laptop

it is a workstation class laptop, heavy and durable. Despite its weight I took it around the world on a number of times. Upgradeable to 32 GB RAM. Good battery. It will outlive you. Again, it's heavy.

IQ Feed unreliable, any suggestion to replace it?

Yes, Linda Raschke liked the Photon Trader so much that she bought the brokerage with the rights and source code. And I don't think you have stocks there. PhotonTrader data feed is powered by Rithmic. So, as others suggested, you may look into Rithmic and associated marketplace. I simply...

IQ Feed unreliable, any suggestion to replace it?

May I suggest a service where the quote feed and execution feed networks are separated? My Photon Trader does that, and at the time of announcements I hear execution sounds before I can see them on the screen, when I place a bracket like that.

Pension funds in China now allowed to invest....this is out of control

I travelled around the globe and lived (as opposed to travel) in a few quite diverse countries. . What you use is called proof by transitivity in logic. Used incorrectly in your argument. You could also invoke Moscow as a proxy for Russia. Based on the numbers of Maybach vehicles, they'd take...

PCI-Ex16 video cards to support 4 screens?

Sorry, gentlemen, it's a waste of time. LLF is not the most optimal way to rewrite MBR, and reformatting MBR is not going to make the video issues go away.

"Don't Defrag SSD In Widows" Wisdom is WRONG!

You can also look into Amazon Web Services (namely S3) and S3 Browser or Cloudberry Explorer for Amazon. AWS will grant you their year-long Free Tier just for trying..

If you want a more modern 4-head, I love NVS 510, but it is closer to $200 on the Bay. The NVS 295, referenced above is an excellent card for trading, and it is around $10 nowadays. Passive cooler, no spinning parts to break, no noise..

    Why good platforms ignore mac?

Amen to that. And the monobody ones are aesthetically pleasing, they sure do differentiate themselves in the form department. The substance department is where the advantages of yore have evaporated. And then this CPU/chipset flip-flop race to cut the corners in order to keep the margins: from...
