Why Is The Obvious Not So Obvious?

From "the other forum" : How To Trade: Full Stop, posted by The Expert Feb 19, 2010 "30 days or prices showing the running average 30 day price next to the daily price. This can be set up with live data feed or done at EOD. Same for 10 day and 5 day. This is a basic step and will just make a...

Is it possible to make 5% a month in stocks and ETFs ?

So what is your straight answer to the posted 5% question? I do not agree about your vision of aim and consistently, nor do I think it is polite to enter this tread with getting at me.

Why Is The Obvious Not So Obvious?

OA, This is not 5 min for CONE that specific day. I could see immediately as something was missing. I only get in and out early. Make profit or lose some. No screen staring all day. Need volatility to make some money. GO

Why Is The Obvious Not So Obvious?

OA, Please give me a clue for the set-up: CONE: is it the open of bar #6 or # 7 . Are you talking about set-ups or entries now? The open is part of the set-up. As are HLC. After a qualifying set-up you need an entry. A set-up is what you use to make a selection before market opens. An...

Why Is The Obvious Not So Obvious?

OA, 1) possible. 2) possible. 3) possible, this is what I read. We need a good setup : We want a condition that needs to be met before we consider entering a trade. The setup is a filter which tells us when the odds are in our favor but it is not telling us when we should enter the trade. A...

Why Is The Obvious Not So Obvious?

Uptrend: 1. open above the prior close (and preferably above the prior high) Concerning the Open, what about: open above prior open? 2. retrace stalls at the height or close of the prior bar (small lower wick) Do not worry about this for now. Now what about HLC? The best I can think of: if 1...

Why Is The Obvious Not So Obvious?

#6 is ok. However no money to be made on #7, as #7 does not confirm. #8 and #13 not ok. You wrote it yourself why. Two of the 4 variables do not align with the previous bar. #15 and #16 are ok. #15 confirms #14. #16 confirms #15. You mention "don't indicate a clear downtrend". If you are...

Why Is The Obvious Not So Obvious?

Thanks! So I think you're looking for confirmations of a "trend"; a green bar after a green bar etc. This is after the fact, but yes I know this at EOD and am prepared. * With the exception of #9, all bars didn't retrace more than halfway the body of the former. * With the exception of #6, all...

Why Is The Obvious Not So Obvious?

One bar is just a bar. Compare ALL the information it is telling you to the bar before. I like bar nr 4,5,6,9 and the last one. Do you see what they tell you? I screen for them and am prepared when the market opens on what might happen.

Well SF, comparing C with O is like comparing apples and oranges. Try again.
