31% Return Over Last 8 Trading Days

That sucks. Most people have been getting around 437% the last five days or so, but that's for an account size of 50 bucks or so.

    Pushing It Further

Jorge, I do exactly the same thing since it's all mechanical. No quotes except on entry/exit, no Level II, no P&L until the end of the day. My personality is subject to ticks, the quote kind.

What is the worst thing you do when you get mad at a bad trade?

Losses are normal? Oh man, I'm trying to remember which wannabe trader told me that. Nice speech though. The next time you have a losing streak, see if you're upset and get back to me.

This is how hard it is to stay on top...

Aaron, don't know if you're using volatility breakouts but last year was exceptional for them: not the norm, continued use of them will be a bust, as they have been for the first 4 months this year

What is the worst thing you do when you get mad at a bad trade?

What is the worst thing you do when you get mad at a bad trade?

He asked what is the worst thing you do, not what you're supposed to do. Although a system trader, I say about fifty f*cks followed by a motherf***ing c***s****er. But I brought some hand weights into the room today: a perfect outlet so far! PTR

    How important is Computer Programming...

I only started writing good systems after trading for a while. The systems (which I thought were great) sucked as much as I did when first starting out. I saw blue and red arrows and said yeah, just gonna follow those arrows. But then after a couple of years, I saw a blue arrow after the market...

POLL: Was Larry Williams one of the greatest traders ever or was he a low-life cheat?

What do equity traders at major firms like Merrill do these days?

No, in order to get Fidelity's business, the equity desks take the other side of their trades and get whacked in the process. It's all about volume.
