The BEST ES systems in the world

I think he's bought into the whole "hero picking the top" cult mania that has pervaded all the Compuserve/AOL/Internet trading forums since the '80s...

    Diggin the New Look

Not enough contrast? Your monitor and video card program have settings to adjust the brightness and contrast. If you are using the stock settings for either, chances are the brightness is too high, and the contrast is too low. Try twerking those.... If you get the settings right...

How to help Typhoon Haiyan survivors

Or you can just send them a map with the areas in the world not prone to hurricanes or typhoons highlighted, and tell them to move there! Do the same to the coastal residents of North Carolina, South Carolina, and Georgia as well as Galveston, TX, New Orleans, Biloxi, MS, Mobile, AL, and the...

Why Is The Obvious Not So Obvious?

I believe he defines "taking the full market offer" as capturing all the swing high->low and vice-versa on a 1-min time frame. It's not so much that he knows what to do at each moment, but letting the market tell him exactly what to do. Then again, I think JH is omniscient and is 1 with the...

Swing Trading Global Markets - WILD Approach

Are you limiting yourself to looking at just the hourly/daily charts, or driving yourself manic watching the DOM or the 5/15/30 min charts? Are you only trading ES or would you consider markets that trend better w/o the intraday manic-depression? How are you determining the swings you're...

    Does Anyone Ignore News Completely?

A lot of us, until we're fully confident of our methods (OP's use of price action in this case), have a need for additional sources of confirmation to make sure we're not misreading the situation and opening ourselves up to a very expensive mistake. I've noticed in the last few weeks the...

Swing Trading Global Markets - WILD Approach

How about throwing in $6 RT commissions and 1 pt slippage each way? It's been bandied about various places, especially in pabst's article in the Greatest Hits section, that traders are typically profitable before commissions. After commissions, they're net losers... Might as well make it...

Experience in using a group to do back testing

It's not hard to find a few unmotivated blobs who are content with the security of a paycheck, but... you aren't going to get the highest caliber folks from this pool... However, if you have access to a few hundred million, you could form your own fund and gain access to the motivated...

Experience in using a group to do back testing

Programmers? Traders? Low paid monkeys who can change a few parameters in a retail program, and click "Start"? Why can't you do that yourself? Or are you thinking more of the lines of creating your own brainstorm group, and then testing the group's ideas/strategies? Or are you...

    Trading -AUD/USD

Cool! Congrats! EUR/USD had a similar starting point and move 2 weeks ago - went from 1.3680 to 1.3745, dropped briefly back to 1.3720 for about 30-45 min, then rocketed up to 1.3790. Hopefully this one does it too.

How much would you risk on a GOOD trade?

Double-checked - no error. If you multiply the run * total, and then add all of them together, you get the correct number of tosses... That is, if I have a run of 7, you don't increment the run totals for 1, 2, 3, 4, 5, 6, and 7. You just increment 7.

How much would you risk on a GOOD trade?

Yes, you're right. There's an error, most likely with the counting of the 1-run whipsaws between heads and tails... That's what 15 min gets you - close, but not close enough...

How much would you risk on a GOOD trade?

Here's a quick and dirty Perl script for those who'd like to visualize the frequency of consecutive runs for coin tosses: You'll need to install the Perl Module Math::Secure::Random. You can execute it as ./script -r [rounds] #!/usr/local/bin/perl use strict; use Getopt::Std; use...
