    I'm voting for McCain

You ASSUMED I attacked her for her color. In fact, I attacked her for her FAMOUS anti American statement (in case you were on Mars at the time: The "I have never been proud of my country until now" statement. She was not mis quoted. That is exactly what she said, and has been trying to get out...

    I'm voting for McCain

You proved my point however. YOU brought up race, NOT me, with your first reply. My original posting had NOTHING to do with race. It had to do with the fact that I don't believe anything coming from Obama's mouth.

    I'm voting for McCain

Obama has reversed pretty much EVERY view he took in the primaries, which in turn has his liberal supporters up in arms. The exception being that he wants to greatly expand the role of government. http://massdiscussion.blogspot.com/2008/06/collection-of-obama-flip-flops.html There are...

    I'm voting for McCain

That was an absolutely retarded reply. I have zero against Obama's race, and would vote for Colin Powell in a heartbeat. Its interesting that Obama supporters are always the ones that bring up the race issue.

The economic impact of the current Exodus from the United States.

Why live in the US? This is something no one on ET can understand. You post little else on ET other than US bashing, Brazil pumping or completely wrong US political analysis; and you state that your background has zero value in the States. We are all curious, WHY do you remain in the place...

McCain Is Not Fit For Office

Have you seen the polls? They are dead even now. Obama should be up by 20 or more points given the extreme dislike for the Republicans now. I bet Obama actually loses to Mac, who I also believe is teetering on senility! Obama is probably the only candidate that could lose to Mac in this...

    I'm voting for McCain

I agree that its all just a referendum on Obama. Doesn't really matter who is running against him. Most people like Obama, and believe he is a damn smart cookie. Problem is, how many people trust the guy. Seems to me he is just pure ambition. He wants to be President, and will say anything to...

    go Barrack Obama

Your typical middle class person hardly pays anything in taxes under the current system. The "rich" already pay way more than their share.

Senate to end preferential tax for commodities?

providing liquidity is critical. Without traders (speculators), markets would not be efficient at all, and the end result would be higher prices to the end user. Lack of an efficient method to lock in prices would lead to hoarding activity all the way down the production process. it would be...

    Richest traders trade commodities?

Congress is debating killing that right now, before they go on recess. Won't happen that soon, but may definitely happen. its all fallout from the speculation paranoia about crude. I have posted a link to this bill under the politics group of threads. This will affect me directly as almost...

Senate to end preferential tax for commodities?

Yeah, I find it amusing how many liberal "traders" are on ET. You would think nearly all traders would be anti tax types. Apparently not.

    Vail or Aspen or ???

both Vail and Aspen have lots of lodging right at the slopes. Aspen actually has 4 different resorts, with Aspen Mtn in town, and Aspen Highlands probably being the best. Vail was created for skiing, so the town is much smaller than Aspen (which was around long before skiing). Also may...

Do you know how those bald-headed guys win CNBC contest?

Trading contests are always won on taking extreme positions. This is how some money managers get their start. They enter a contest ten different times, taking ten extreme approaches hoping one works out. Then they say "I won the 1999 (or whatever) US trading championship with a 245% gain...."

Would Prop be the way to go?

Susquehanna as a starting point? maybe if you are a serious quant. (unless they've added a prop arm i am unaware about). You could always just go the retail "prop" route with a firm that will train you, and only demand 5k of your own money up front to trade. Real trading firms, where the...

Senate to end preferential tax for commodities?

Looks like congress may take away the beneficial tax treatment for trading futures. Not sure if its just going to be for energy futures, or just for institutional investors. Either way, its the first nail in the coffin for higher taxes on trading. Guess I won't bother trading all day if this...

"Obama's Top Ten Flaws" that will haunt him in Nov.

The only place the uninsured can even go is emergency rooms. yes, we have higher prices because of that, but they aren't really covered. The main reason we have such high rates is litigation which drives malpractice insurance to the moon, and extreme waste by medicare/medicaid which often pay...

Where The US Is Today....Debt Deflation

try adding 10 trillion to that credit figure. I just read earlier today that its now estimated at 59 trillion. I believe this figure is somewhere around the value of the entire Earth. Or maybe just the GDP, can't remember which.

Living & trading out of the DR

When I was living in Cabarete, I also spent a lot of time in Sosua since it is so close. I really liked it as its mainly a Dominican town, with a few expats here and there (always enough to find for a beer). Really nice people in Sosua, and cheaper than Cabarete (which was also cheap by US...

Living & trading out of the DR

I lived in Cabarete (windsurfing/kitesurfing resort) for 3 mos in 2004. At the time, internet connections were decent in the internet cafes, but the entire system would crash all the time. It was country wide from what I was told. Fun place to live however.
