    Prop futures firms?

greentreetrading.com. No c'mon. How tough is it to do a web search?

    Yet another multimonitor question

Pop 4 quad cards in for 16. I think you may be limited to 10 by XP OS though. Personally, I could never handle more than 4. Too distracting.

    Yet another multimonitor question

You can run at least 10.

    Prop futures firms?

Greentree too. They make you put up a small amount of deposit (5K), so it may not be pure prop to some people. Jay

How much have you had to drink in your life?

That won't hurt you any if you are healthy, and don't do it on a daily basis. If you start noticing spontaneous bruising without any falling episodes, then its time to stop. First sign your liver is having a hard time keeping up. Happened to me after an especially ugly spring vacation in Mexico...

    Ninja Trader problem.

This confuses me because the NT quick start guide says to use the TWS demo. At least now I know why it won't work. Thanks, Jay

    Ninja Trader problem.

For some reason I cannot get it to connect with TWS demo, but it works fine with the live TWS. Ports are configured the same in both. Any ideas? I just started using it today. Fired off a few trades with no knowledge of software. Worked great. Now want to practice some stuff without making...

    Repeal Of 60/40 Tax Treatment!!!

How is that possible? You only pay taxes on profits. Regardless of the tax scheme, a change in tax rates doesn't make a loss a gain, or visa versa.

    Equities vs. Futures

I have no empirical evidence. This is just a belief common to most futures traders. The leverage makes very short term trades much more common, which negates fundamental trading for the most part. My experience shows this to be very true, especially for classic chart formations. My time at...

How much have you had to drink in your life?

Ibuprofin is even worse. Your liver has a hell of a time processing either of these complicated drugs. However, I wouldn't worry about liver damage from a single weekend of beer binging. Maybe a few months of a fifth per day. It takes some serious abuse before your liver starts crapping out

    Equities vs. Futures

    9) cheaper execution costs. 10) still plenty of volatility. 11) tech analysis works better than with equities. Almost all futures traders are technical traders of some sort.

Yes, this is what I'm looking for. Thanks.

    Maui cell phone Q

For you local Maui folk, which mobile phone company seems to have the best coverage? I won't need it for any net access (Maui Sky Fiber for that), just for talkin to. I have T-mobile currently, and am thinking of upgrading the account, but it will lock me into another year of service and I...

    CNBC experiment

Hmmm. I think I posed my original question awkwardly. I'm not looking for tips, etc (been trading a looong time), Just like to know what's going on. Its a psychology thing with me. Thanks though, Jay

    CNBC experiment

I prolly should have mentioned this also. A squawk is overkill actually. I'm not a scalper (I do about a half dozen trades per day). I love squawk boxes but they distract me too much. Thanks for the input though. A website like briefing but forward looking would be good enough I guess. Jay

    CNBC experiment

Thanks, but I want to kill off the TV altogether. I already look at Bloomberg also. I don't care about rumors either. I just like pit reports. Is the pit looking at certain levels? What are they worried about? That type of thing. Jay

    CNBC experiment

I use CNBC during the day solely for the reports from the pits and equity "floors" (not so applicable for NASDAQ). I would like to just shut off the TV altogether, but I like to know what's going on. As a result, I am looking for a net site which could substitute here. Sites like briefing.com...

    IB Stop Orders

To IB's credit, they sent me a letter of apology after the way they treated me on this issue. Still, it does not address the issue of why they don't inform their customers when this stuff happens. Jay

    Capital gains tax cut

Absolutely true, but they will use this in the '04 campaign of course. We would be in deficit even without the added spending on security and the war. Its a recession contraction thing that began 10 months before Bush was sworn in. Dems are totally blind to this. This is starting to sound...
