    Psychology of success

Second hand car dealers don't add value as well then? Well, the economy would be better of without them, or what about meat traders, uh, should I go on, before we know it, there isn't an economy left to discuss about

Do I understand you correctly if I read that you think speculation doesn't add real value? You might seem smart, but aren't too bright in my opinion. Like many academics, not?

The Ultimate DAX Scalping Discussion Thread!

I think it works on every timeframe. It feels much more comfortable to me not having to be right at the first try.. If I would just take small losses all the time, I would lose my shirt (if i didn't have a serious edge). Which I don;t btw. And I don't think I need. 1) psychology 2) money...

    Psychology of success

Listen carefully, I am going to say this only once ;-) It's not the other people who have changed, it's the main character him/herself! Because your personal situation changed, you are pretending that other people are looking at you with envy or whatever. If someone looks weird at you, he...

"big size" proprietary futures trading firms

I can imagine having a prem indicator up for the dax would be a good idea if you're trading size. Then you know when the arbs are ready for your 300 lot coming in, not?!

"big size" proprietary futures trading firms

I don't think it would make sense to have a much less than 20 points stoploss on a 300 dax lot position. How do you expect to fill that kind of size on the dax :D Talk about sliippaagggge! (or there might be other clever ways of filling that kind of size I don't know of, OTC??)

The Ultimate DAX Scalping Discussion Thread!

Thanks :-) Exactly, take it easy on the bolognese! I don't scalp the dax but something not unfamiliar. Currently I am investigating new ways of positioning in liquid markets. I don't think in buying here and selling there anymore. More so; I am buying in this area, might buy some...

The Flip-A-Coin trading strategy and lessons learned from it

Net, I can't possibly more agree with you and be happy with the road you're following. When I early in my career did the coin flipping experiments I was ridiculed. That muted when the results showed up. With this experiment you'll find for instance that money management will not make or...

    thee olde bozo of omaha

Productivity growth is key for the US to be able to pay for all the cheap imports. Frankly I don't see Europe showing much growth in that department. They still live in the "What can my country do for me" world. Two main issues here: 1) The backwardly socialists don't understand economic...

In the long term it's productivity growth which ensures growing economy imo.

Come on, inflation is necessary for letting debtors off the hook, promoting consumers to buy stuff now instead of later, and to be able to raise wages every year, incent investing etc.

    95% of traders fail???

You must be really really really valuable to the firm to make "just" 10-20 mn a year, or +100 . How much do you need to make it to one of those richest 500 people of america lists? That amount of cash makes up a significant part of yearly profits of the entire 10000+ employees firm.

    Traders' Coach (Woman)

Do you have experience with this, if so please tell us about it. I am thinking of doing just that. Not so sure whether to choose the mcdonalds or bartender job yet though..

productivity has gone up. gdp has gone up. inflation in check. But these cpi #s take quality enhancements into account. That's fair by my standards. You could drive a "cheaper" model and still have the same or better driving quality as with the upscale model from 10 years ago. Oranges or gas...

    Fighting the Tape

and yes, I know too well what Illiquid is talking about. If I trade against the trend I do well in a choppy market. But then it feels bad when the market runs away and I am not participating. That brings us back to the origin of this thread. Profound trust in your method will help. You can...

Ok.. Now how can I anticipate if the market is gonna be choppy or trendy  Now we are one step ahead :D (but I don't know the answer yet)
