2] Are there any practical advantages in drawing/recognizing pennants in regards to trading them? The ones you have drawn very rarely follow their 'universal TA' application in breaking the horizontal--which is not surprising as they are only 2-3 bars. I understand that these are signified by...

I'm back in ?4GH thread and these guys are talking about the "flapper on the 5 minute bar". I also remember Jack talking about the "YM-$INDU" flapper. Is the "flapper" simply the moving portion of the price bar and for YM$, the changing value of the ∆? TIA for any help. lj

This so far appears to be a civilized discussion about what Spyder should or shouldn't do with respect to what he said he would do. The reality is no matter what Spyder does he will harangued by some subset of ET'ers. So if I might be so bold, might I suggest that everyone let Spyder do...

I must rhyme in with a lot of the recent posters on the utility of using "ancillary diagnostic tests". Spyder's methodology, save for the 20 SMA, is indicator-free and I think that in so far as getting new members to the tribe into the mindset of thinking "PV", it is an excellent (might I say...

FWIW, 13492 = overnight YM low, attained after the CPI numbers. 1485.50 = overnight ES low attained after the CPI numbers and before the YM overnight low. lj

Good AM all, Have been going thru some of the older stuff [? for Grob/Hershey in particular] and there is some truly nifty STR/SQU material from MAK. The attachment is his XL "script" for DTNIQFeed as the data feed. Just plugin the current contract and you're off, at least in the sense of...

How do I enter YM symbol in QuoteTracker

If it's for a QT portfolio and you haven't rolled over simply use: @ESZ7 AND @YMZ7 in the symbol column of the Portfolios and Alerts window [go to "Portfolio" and tab to "Edit ...".] If you wish to trade, I think it depends on your broker. According to IB, which is what I use, for the ES use...

FAlx, I think that the 12:55-13:00 ES bar was a tape FTT. Additionally the 12:58-13:00/13:00-02 YM doublet was a "double bottom" FTT. The 12:40-45 ES bar was the initial bar of a lateral which from its "price flow" would have suggested an "in @ the top/out @ the bottom" continuation but...

Agreed avi8. One does not want to get stuck in a fruitless M-A-M-A-... cycle. On the other hand, the simple act of asking questions, IMO, is always of benefit. At the least, it keeps one's ego in check, either intentionally [I asked the question because I didn't know] or unintentionally [I...

A couple of questions for Spyder or whomever: 1. On rollover day, is it useful to carry over the appropriate channels from the prior day (YM/ES08) given the poor volume? 2. There is still substantial volume associated with the YM/ESZ7 contracts this AM. No doubt this will continue to...

    ES leads YM or reverse?

what I mean by it depends is, right now the YM is up 70 and the ES is up 14 points. There's an imbalance there. YM/ES @ close of 2:55 ET 1 min bar = 13529/1492 = 9.067 vs 70/14 = 5.000. Is that the "imbalance"? lj

BEST YM 1 Minute Chart Daytrading System

Indeed, welcome back Jack. Many moons ago it was taught that when creating the past tense of a verb that ends in "s", one "doubles the s" so as to preserve the correct phonetic pronunciation for the "u" - short with a double "s" and long with a single "s". Sometimes syntactical changes are for...
