IB commission fee vs standard pricing.

Spoke to IB support today. For Manual traders, the commission IB charges itself is the same no matter where you route. The exchange fees for taking liquidity is additional and depends on the venue as expected. There is a way to configure the SMART route to exclude dark pools:

Anyone Tried the 60 Day Trading Gauntlet from Earn 2 Trade?

"Our second package — Bootcamp — is for traders who want to learn to day trade and take their skills to the next level. " I am just going to say that your competition is getting more and more transparent. Once you go beyond support/resistance concepts, it's hard to commit without understanding...

Anyone Tried the 60 Day Trading Gauntlet from Earn 2 Trade?

Is it possible for you to post some videos of your live trading? What styles will you teach? You can't possibly be masters of all.

Do you pay for the data? I assume you are getting real time (or close to it) level one data.

K welcome to my thread :)

Am I one of these idiots?

Depends how you define success. To me, false hope better than no hope. If I "fail", at least I tried. I work with what god(or whatever) gave me and try to make the most of it. What exactly is your justification for calling Brett a sucker? You read his stuff and found it garbage?

IB commission fee vs standard pricing.

What l mean is nothing is free ... The broker either sells the order flow to hft or itself internalizes using the same practices as hft. Im talking specifically SMART routes. How else can they survive on such low commission. All I'm saying is hft IS the market, no way to escape it. Accept it...

IB commission fee vs standard pricing.

Unfortunately everything comes down to having good market data which costs an arm and a leg - a true advantage of hft. If you subscribe to full depth feed (ex total view), you will know from the message that match was of a hidden order. What good is your SOR if your data is stale? You will be...

I meant ET is not a platform to encourage people with limited funds to start trading.
  11. Q

IB commission fee vs standard pricing.

My view on this is that every serious shop has been forced to become an hft of sorts unless they don't care about execution quality. Your MM is hft. Your broker is hft. How do you know your arb strategy is not competing with another same/similar strategy run by a hft shop? They may be doing same...

Ryan, I think you should stop. This is not that kind of platform (I hope).
  13. Q

IB commission fee vs standard pricing.

I don't understand your obsession with hft. IEX is one of the most expensive venues. There's lots of controversy about what they are doing. Good marketing, questionable practices. Search TABB forum for some articles. The only people who should be complaining about hfts are people running low...

Am I one of these idiots?

In In fact I did, but I never put my family at risk! Took me quickly enough to realize I didn't know what I was doing. But the more difficult question is - what is your motivation to trade - can you REALLY honestly answer to yourself?

Am I one of these idiots?

When I read this for the first time, it shook me (the 9-to-5 one!). I was just starting on my journey. I think I am still yet to prove to myself I'm not one of those. Anyway, all Brett's stuff is a must read as far as I'm concerned. Hope it will be helpful on your journey...

Hm ... With all the technology available nowadays to prove one's edge, why would anyone need this kind of offering?
  18. Q

IB commission fee vs standard pricing.

You obviously didn't read it carefully.
  19. Q

IB commission fee vs standard pricing.

Hm doesn't sound right ... commissions must be the same, the only fee I know of is for taking liquidity (plus negligible sec fee). Let's say IB sends your order to EDGE but EDGE must re-route to NYSE, then you will also pay routing fee. That's where the variation may come in. There are plenty...
  20. Q

IB commission fee vs standard pricing.

Sorry, what insane fees you are talking about? I don't think they have any extra fees for direct routing. If you send directly to exchange, you will pay the commissions PLUS the liquidity taking fees charged by exchange. Am I missing something?
