Jorge, I do exactly the same thing since it's all mechanical. No quotes except on entry/exit, no Level II, no P&L until the end of the day. My personality is subject to ticks, the quote kind.
Losses are normal? Oh man, I'm trying to remember which wannabe trader told me that.
Nice speech though. The next time you have a losing streak, see if you're upset and get back to me.
Aaron, don't know if you're using volatility breakouts but last year was exceptional for them: not the norm, continued use of them will be a bust, as they have been for the first 4 months this year
bung, I think the only way to do that (especially for a system trader) is to not even look at the quotes between trades. Enter the trade, don't watch it, and wait for the exit signal. One trader used to futz around with his trades so much that he would minimize all of the charting and quote...
He asked what is the worst thing you do, not what you're supposed to do. Although a system trader, I say about fifty f*cks followed by a motherf***ing c***s****er. But I brought some hand weights into the room today: a perfect outlet so far!

1. The Golden Ratio / Mario Livio
2. Fibonacci and Lucas Numbers with Applications / Koshy
3. New Fibonacci Trader / Fischer
4. Profitable Patterns for Stock Trading / Pesavento
5. The Harmonic Trader / Carney
Has Elite Trader considered starting a software library on the site, where users can upload and download code for various platforms? I have a ton of indicators and systems and wouldn't mind sharing them with the community.
