High Pings & Latencies in Day Trading?

Amazing! Means your pings to Australia first go east to the L.A. backbone, then from there south-west through the southern-cross cable! Very interesting, though. Particularly that you live in Japan! Are you American resident, or Japanese, or European? I always considered living in Japan for a...

High Pings & Latencies in Day Trading?

As said... "Unless you're really trained at this..." If youre a Karateka, Boxer or any kind of fighter - no worries. Mawashi is the slowest (!) form of attack there is, as is any leg attack which is why I chose it for an example. If you focus on arm/fist movements, things become A LOT faster. If...

High Pings & Latencies in Day Trading?

I sure know one thing for latency: This week, had I only realized 2 minutes (oh yes, a whopping 120,000 ms) earlier that my handbrake wasn't gonna hold my C LE on a steep uphill, I would have put it into 1st gear before leaving it to roll back down a slope into a tree in the closest neighbour's...

High Pings & Latencies in Day Trading?

Well... LOL! That's why I said nitro seriously manages to make me raise me brow over again! :) I've been trying to conceptualize all afternoon the difference between having a 1/3 of a second ping and a 66ms ping. Admitted, I can personally (!) tell the difference between 250ms and 500ms...

High Pings & Latencies in Day Trading?

Holy shyt... Nice ping. You would find that the full execution with IB takes quite a little longer, though. If total execution with IB would also happen somewhere in that timeframe, nobody would be using X_Trader.

Super fast trading - all automatic

I've started a thread on pings & execution latencies, anybody who wants to contribute is welcome: High Pings & Latencies in Day Trading?

High Pings & Latencies in Day Trading?

nitro, you seriously manage to make me raise my brows once over again. It's rather disturbing talking about latency in my situation. I have had literally hundreds of discussions on the issue of latency in day trading. Starting with a satellite solution because where I used to live until a...

Repetition, The Mother of Success and Failure. RAMOUTAR REPORT VOLUME 10

I see how your getting offended reflects very clearly only the validity of my arguments. If they weren't true, you wouldn't take offense to them (simple psychology). Of course this doesn't include absolute statements/insults such as those you have stated about day traders. You pride yourself...

Average points being pulled from ES NQ?

LOL! I couldn't net that much on ES - At least not in these quiet times. You're certainly a much much better scalper than me... Good work! :)

Repetition, The Mother of Success and Failure. RAMOUTAR REPORT VOLUME 10

Well, what's new? Who said I didn't understand you said this "for arguments sake"? Let's put it this way, in no (futures!) index I can think of day trading would I be happy with a 10 point profit over several days. It wouldn't be worth the work I put in as a scalper. Sure, you only work 10% of...

The Ultimate DAX Scalping Discussion Thread!

Well, sorry if I misunderstood. In the other thread (X_Trader thread?) you just proclaimed that it was your idea to first trade the EU opening of DAX and then the US opening, to maximize profit potential. In case you didn't notice, I was kidding at that point. It isn't exactly an "invention"...

Repetition, The Mother of Success and Failure. RAMOUTAR REPORT VOLUME 10

Amen, Amen, Amen and Amen. And: Amen. :D Cheese, very smart comments. Agree 100%. Also what you say about the Dow: Big gyrations. It's deemed the best scalping market still existent in the US these days. Yet mind you: The tick value is very small at $5, and the commissions are gigantic. Many...

The Ultimate DAX Scalping Discussion Thread!

JR, you like to proclaim yourself as genius, but this is long cold coffee. I've discussed exactly this idea ages ago (not to mention again on this thread) and I've filed exactly this function and idea with a lot more detail in to the ButtonTrader team, months ago. Yet you're welcome to contact...

The Ultimate DAX Scalping Discussion Thread!

John, please realize that it's got nothing whatsoever to do with the developers. The snapshot feeds come this way from the broker (IB), not the platforms. No developer can do anything about it. And if you go to blame the broker now, you can forget that, too. The broker can't do anything...

The Ultimate DAX Scalping Discussion Thread!

You don't need to extract anything. All you do is add up the cumulative volume on each 5 levels and weight your bias according to the cumulative volume ratio. If the cumulative volume is 7,000 contracts on one side and 4,000 contracts on the other, then you have a situation. It shouldn't even be...

The Ultimate DAX Scalping Discussion Thread!

No precise ratio. It depends on the overall market situation and the correlative depth situation on other indices. As said, it's discretionary. It can be roughly quantified, but only roughly, because there are many situations, times of day, and market velocity states. JR, I don't like the...

Repetition, The Mother of Success and Failure. RAMOUTAR REPORT VOLUME 10

ChartingMarkets - You sound very experienced, yet don't seem to have the experience to be more open to other possibilities, rather than imposing your harsh opinion on day traders! You take 4-6 points for your swing trades? Well, in what timeframe? And, do you risk overnight exposure? To make...

$5,000 entry with training Plus, Plus

I have an announcement: I think all this discussion about Don's credibility is sheer, egotistical nonsense, not objectivity! I have read many of Don's posts and had a few exchanges with him, and from what I recall, he's one of the few people around who know what really counts in trading...

Repetition, The Mother of Success and Failure. RAMOUTAR REPORT VOLUME 10

Haha! Isn't that what we all do? :D LOL! This makes me think of something bizarre. I asked one of my best friends recently how he keeps the nerves to do what he's doing. He trades e-minis with very high leverage, but unlike me, he doesn't just scalp with minimal risk, but rather holds on a lot...
