Tend to agree, you may well find that you come up against all kinds of ways someone can pick holes in your methodology.

Give some thought as to where survivor bias might come into this. Also with fixed position size (min 1 future or 100 shares) you might also want to give some thought as to starting account size being a factor in success.

    Trade Asian stocks through Interactivebrokers

How about Thai stocks? Oh, allright then, how about the SET futures due in April? Top that Kiwi :D

    Asian daytrading makes a comeback

She probably just lost it in the correction. New retail investors tend not to keep the money they make - ride it all the way up and then ride it all the way down.

    For me it was eSignal.

    Asian daytrading makes a comeback

I don't think we trade the same way Kiwi. I have found the cash 1 hr opening range to be better than the futs and also with thinner markets like SPI, all kinds of things can happen when the cash is closed. Likewise with eg HSI especially, certain gentlemen take advantage of the pre cash open...

    Asian daytrading makes a comeback

Kiwi, might be worth noting that cash hours have changed - now reopens 1pm not 12.30 and close at 3 pm - all Tokyo time

    Asian daytrading makes a comeback

Most Asian exchanges have high retail daytrader component, with Korea and Thailand being especially high. Here is another article that gives names of web discount brokers, the ones I have tried to follow up on don't have English websites, if anyone is trading Japanese stocks with an English...

    Windows 2000 vs XP

Go with XP Pro if your spec will support it W2K was where alll the effort was directed at stability. W ith XP the focus seems to have been on making the now stable platform user friendly. As noted, you can turn a lot of the bloat off. I delayed upgrading W2K as I assumed XP was all bloat and...

Is there a list of guidelines anywhere for converting TS8 code back to TS2000i e.g workarounds for new TS8 functions/commands/reserved words not native to TS2K? I see snippets on the forum but don't know of any comprehensive guidelines.

Matrox G450 MMS vs G200 MMS

Correction: it is Hypertrader.it that provide the esignal interface compatible datafeed (itservice.net provide adaptors for e.g BBG to TS2K etc)

Matrox G450 MMS vs G200 MMS

Sounds like the problems I had with eSignal with P4, 2GB RAM, 64Mb Video card memory and ADSL. Funny how we are all reporting the same issues but eSignal probably also told you that you were the only person reporting this so it must be your ISP/PC etc. They wasted a lot of my time just binning...

    eSignal and Asian futures

Doesn't seem to cover Asia for execution as well even though Man/Refco and others cover these markets. Eventually I think that will be the way to go as I am sick and tired of the throw it back at the customer tactics of these retail data vendors and brokers. Granted it is a different model...

    eSignal and Asian futures

Apparently none in terms of data, just that the Metastock product comes adapted for Metastock as far as I can tell. It seems you can use it as a standalone package but also feed into TS2K via itservice, net linkserver adaptor (USD2k BTW!) and others via DDE link.

    eSignal and Asian futures

As far as I am aware CQG do not yet cover all Asian exchanges (e.g no HSI?) If not, take a look at Reuters Bridgstation at itservice.net as it comes in cheaper (data on exchanges under Metastock quoteserver(center?) at Metastock site - same product). There is a DDE adapter out there that should...

    eSignal and Asian futures

I cancelled months/years ago because it was so bad. Near Institutional pricing for lagging "RT" data, corrupt backfill, non functioning tick charts etc etc. All this was apparently my fault not theirs and was NEVER fixed. It felt SOOOOOO GOOD when I cancelled. Screw you eSignal. Hope you go...

    How The Stock Market Works?

Not as complicated as some would have you believe. A stock is just a tool for moving money from many pockets to a few. Step 1) mop up freefloat Step 2) Ramp it up, step 3) dump it on the suckers. HTH

Volume -- I'd like to learn more about it

As I understand it OBV was made simple because it was hand calculated and so can be improved upon using PC number crunching. Do a search on google or TASC for some articles (and cut and paste code for MS TS etc) by Katsanos as he developed VFI/FVE to overcome some of the shortcoming e.g from...

Volume -- I'd like to learn more about it

You have to understand that whenever possible accumulation is done in silence with every effort made to avoid attracting attention. If blocks are hitting the tape/offer is being lifted it is because they want you to see them, e.g at the markup phase or they no longer care that you can see them...
