    Insider trading site?

New rule basically says that insiders must disclose transactions totaling >$100,000 within 2 days. It's in effect now and about to be voted on to make permanent. http://www.sec.gov/rules/proposed/33-8090.htm

    Naked short sales

I knew that companies could issue stock but I didn't know that brokers could issue the companys stock as well, and without even an IPO process. Brokers selling shares they don't own is a whole new dynamic (to me). I wonder if they do it with equities like QCOM. They could come up with a huge...

    MSO battleground

The "higher" calling nowadays for many is to do what's right for THEM rather than what's right. Relativism with no absolutes. Anyone that follows this principle is a HERO to many. It would be dangerous to short this one for very long IMO. . "Toilet paper curtains" LOL

30 sec rule for market makers

Maybe it was an "in house" deal and your broker bought someone elses shares for 24.10 (what you said your chart ticked down to) rather than yours for 27.18.

I see what you mean. I wouldn't use the words breathtaking though. To me the Rocky Mountains are breathtaking. When I looked at that chart I got more of the feeling I get when I walk out on my front porch and notice that someone's dog has taken a crap on my lawn. I don't want to deal with it and...

30 sec rule for market makers

That puppy hopped up and down about 20 times between $27.16 and $27.18 (inclusive). Your broker screwed up.

what to do when you know how to make money...

That's easy. You make money. If you don't know how you either face up to it and work at it some more or you make excuses. That "if only...." stuff doesn't cut it in the real world.

    overnight trading

The REAL life of a trader. No rags to riches and it can be a real grind. Have to work at it full time to make a living at it (if you're good). There's no such thing as "playing the market in your spare time to make a little extra spending money" and no such thing as striking it rich. Sad but true.

Waxie acts like a farmer with a herd of dairy cows to milk. And the cows actually pay him a couple of hundred dollars a month to boot. Such a deal.

MSO (Martha Stewart Living) went down because she is friends with the IMCL (ImClone) guy, Sam Waksal, who was just arrested on charges of securities fraud and insider trading. She succeeded in selling several hundred thousand shares(recollect) the day before it crashed a few months ago (probably...

Prechter's case for a bear market...

Bad sentiment and dog kicking are at nosebleeding highs now. "EVERYBODY" says don't do it, don't buy. The Motley Fools were even on TV the other night recommending that people buy CD's, and that people don't mess with this "dangerous" market. All this seems to me to be very bullish, but who knows.

    Standard Deviation Question

StdDev "it's not a component, it describes the Bell curve." Not true Here is an equation for a Bell curve. f(x)=y=[1/(S*sqrt(2Pi)]*e^[-0.5*[(x-u)/S]^2] Where u=mean (constant, calculated), locates the center S=StdDev (constant, calculated), determines dispersion e=2.7183 (constant...
