OVerus Christ-Centered Financial Ratings (Feedback Plz)

True, true... I'm wrestling with this problem right now, and am considering some upgrades. Complicating things, as discussed in this thread, is the difficulty in finding a credible source for contribution data.

Are corporate charitable contributions public information?

No, my question is sincere. I seek a credible source of information for corporate contributions, and came here to the tax and accounting forum for help. In tax records lies my best source of information, but I don't know how to get to them. It is a difficult question, and I'm encountering many...

Are corporate charitable contributions public information?

Not possible for me to buy enough shares to get on the board of even one Dow company, let alone every S&P 500 company. This _is_ my philanthropy. http://www.overus.org/ratings.html

Are corporate charitable contributions public information?

Thanks, Sig. I will give it a shot. I suspect that they will give me very little; or, the information that I _really_ need will be conveniently omitted/buried. Once I explain that I'm rating companies against Christian ideology based on their charitable contributions, I'll get nothing. Example...

Are corporate charitable contributions public information?

Update: I waited a few days, and neither of the law firms that I contacted returned my call. I then asked an accounting buddy, and got the real deal. He said that there's no way in hell that I'm getting this information. I'm asking for a check ledger, and that's top-secret. It's much like...

Which is your favourite indicator and why ?

ad hominem. ;) Anyway, the OP asked for my favorite indicator, a subjective response; an opinion. My answer is an opinion, not asserted here as fact.

Series 7: Can I pay for sponsorship?

You are definitely right about the "License Parking." Thank you for that... I was headed for trouble. http://www.pepperlaw.com/publications/avoiding-parking-violations-how-to-comply-with-nasd-regulation-1031-2005-08-18/ My immediate goal is to get smarter; gain a better understanding of market...

Series 7: Can I pay for sponsorship?

Heya Peeps, I'm thinking about getting my Series 7, mostly for educational purposes. It requires a broker/dealer sponsorship. Is it acceptable to approach a broker/dealer, and ask for sponsorship in return for payment? Not sure what I would offer; obviously enough to cover the exam fee (USD290...

Not reporting taxes until next year

Yup. What he said. A friend of mine got caught up in this. A few years back he was shorting financials. He made some big bets against Bear and Lehman, and made a small fortune in 2008, but didn't pay his taxes right away, thinking that he would deal with it in 1Q2009. In that time, he made a...

Does your portfolio respect Christian values? Have you considered an adjustment, removing any companies with a "D" or "F" rating?

OVerus Christ-Centered Financial Ratings (Feedback Plz)

Dear All, The OVerus Organization has been a project in my portfolio for years. I've recently started rating companies against Christian values. Please take a look. I welcome all feedback. Thanks, Keith http://www.overus.org/ratings.html

Are corporate charitable contributions public information?

Agreed. No way that I can do this without a lawyer behind me. I have calls out to two firms now for a legal opinion. Perhaps if I hire a firm that specializes in shareholder interest to write the letter, I'll have a better shot. Of course, the problem here is co$t. I have no idea what the price...
