Who gets all these fess and commissions?

Good man. You're not wrong, I happen to agree with you. You were just being a bit hard headed and condescending. It's been a long time since I stood on the yellow footprints at MCRDSD on 11 NOV 1983. And when I left in Feb 1984 I was wearing Dress Blues as Guide and Honorman of...

Who gets all these fess and commissions?

Can you not read? If so, can you not comprehend what you read? For the last time.... market microstructure is changing constantly. The "little guy" is saving more now in his transaction cost than he ever has in the history of organized markets. There is less friction in the market...

Who gets all these fess and commissions?

And I'm going it down for you for you elementary style. The point you think you are trying to make is way the market microstructure has been going (read: trend) for the last 40 years. You aren't making any point that hasn't been thought of, discussed and dissected a million times. What...

Who gets all these fess and commissions?

May Day May Day I'm not sure if you noticed there "O" Butler....but the commission component of transaction cost these days is a race to Z-E-R-O. Perhaps you would prefer the time before 1 May 1975 (the date which the $2 brokers still call May Day), at which point all commissions were...

Go easy Teufelhunden..... Damn you guys are motivating. You two make me wanna go out and punch something. Marines I see as two breeds, Rottweilers or Dobermans, because Marines come in two varieties, big and mean, or skinny and mean. They're aggressive on the attack and...

    SPX Credit Spread Trader

Yeah...the fills worked fairly well over the last couple days because I leg into my spreads. Admittedly, I do take a price impact risk doing that but I'm reasonably comfortable with it. Sometimes it works very well....and other times I pay for my folly when trying to forecast market...

    SPX Credit Spread Trader

Greetings OC, I legged into the July SPX 1230/1245 - 1155/1140 condor over the last couple of days for a net credit $4.30. So I wouldn't be opposed to some market "summer doldrums" myself. :)

    SPX Credit Spread Trader

I always find it amazing that most threads here (if not all) deteriorate into something along the line of "fuck you, you don't know shit." I agree with Option Coach. I don't understand why anyone would want argue about this thread. It's a rare good one. He is to be commended for starting...

Sure, you have plenty of credit. It goes on as a credit spread. Just model it out. You'll see.

Just buy in the wings and then you have a 100% defined risk position. Then you can even buy time spreads on both sides. This keeps you delta neutral (or close to it) AND theta positive BUT also makes you vega positive. Best of all worlds....and you sleep like a baby.

Let's hear your explanation of the "conundrum"

With Vols this low how is the discounting of risk....risk? "It not enough to know the average opinion..... one must know the average opinion of the average opinion." ----Lord John Keynes---

Let's hear your explanation of the "conundrum"

Check your history. Then check your account.... gonna be some fun fun. As everyone knows low Vol always leads to high Vol. Make sure you ain't short Vega.
