    Bright Trading's new payout model

Sun Light, I agree with your post. My understanding from looking at their model is if you're doing lower voume (less than 200k/shares), which is 10,000 shares per day on average, your FIXED COST is around $6,000/annually ($250/month professional fees plus $245/month desk fees). If...

SEC/FINRA Officially Issues Warning on Unregistered Broker Dealers

Not "stupid people" or "fools", just good hard working people who didn't conduct enough due diligence before sending their wire transfers to a firm that seemed legit. Boards like these help others to read some info and investigate firms before making an informed decision. Even if they have to...

    Bright Trading's new payout model

What is the "opportunity cost" for a day trader who has to put up their own capital and take ALL losses against their contributions while also having to give up 20% of the profits? Unless this 80/20 payout becomes the standard model for the prop industry, there are other options, such as...

    Prop firm deposits.

You can ask a CBSX firm if they are willing to show you their latest balance sheet as a "creative idea" to help you make a decision before giving them your capital contribution. CBSX firms maintain a one-year lock up as per SEC rules, and from my understanding this is the norm and no way...

    Help deciding on trading platform

Hi, I've found that Sterling works quite well. I'm also considering Lightspeed now that they bought TerraNova (broker) and Anvil (platform). You can download a free demo of both and check them out.

    Remote Firm Rates

carleton, Is it a Canadian based firm? Have you considered filing a complaint with any regulatory agency? We got burned by Team Trading, same situation: no return of deposit, and no return emails when requesting funds from the owners, only sales pitches for new deals. What are you...

SEC/FINRA Officially Issues Warning on Unregistered Broker Dealers

Although I do not know Robert Green personally, one of his bulletins was read by a collegue of mine in November of 2009. He became skeptical of the prop industry, and was fortunate enough to pull out $10,000 of his trader deposit...with Team Trading! A firm that closed its doors in March 2010...

Day Trade 25 ETFs Commission Free at Fidelity

Of the 25, most of them have thin volume and perhaps not very suitable for day trading. However, these are the top three according to intraday volume: EEM (Emerging Market) IWM (Russell) IVV (S&P) If you day trade, then it's cost efficient, as you can't beat FREE!

    http://www.elementtrading.com any body no them?

bstay, good point. many became aware at different stages. ONCE someone becomes aware of the various reincarnations of the LLC's, they are unlikely to be duped again.

TheBishop: WRONG! Most had never heard of HLV before they signed up, and are now much more aware of scams. Read the Team Trading thread, the warnings of these new scams are all over the boards, and those who are paying attention are unlikely to get scammed again.

bstay: They don't need to prowl the ET threads, as they've been spamming all the former VCM/Team Trading clients. "Meet the new boss...same as the old boss", lol!

Looking for reliable prop to trade stocks. Will put up to 10k risk capital.

http://www.tradersnarrative.com/list-of-proprietary-trading-firms-735.html The above link is posted on many threads on ET, and it will give you a start. From my understanding, CBSX registered firms currently only allow capital contributions from US citizens. Not sure which firms you tried...

    Any prop firms hiring?

lol, that about sums it up! when any firm asks for a capital contribution, YOU are the one taking all the risk of the drawdowns, while the firm immediately takes in "firm capital." they will make the overrides on your commissions and most will take at least a 5% cut of net profits, if it's a...

The risk of giving a prop firm your money

Epiphany sure seems above board, yet won't answer a simple question as to why their business model is exempt from the registration requirements of an exchange. Just try asking, perhaps you'll have better luck than I did.

    BP & Chapter 11

Longs are getting stopped out, and then the shorts will get squeezed if BP can survive the bashing from the media and US government. This company earns BILLIONS per quarter!
