    EUREX ping times.

Hmmm, Ping is 40ms, pattaya - sg, with CAT cable. Your very low number seems impossible, True, 3BB, CAT, TOT... I think all 30ms at least. Even 40ms is nothing so don't worry too much. If you need lower latency for an automated system then you're already too far away. There's no matching...

What do these three situations say to you?

You see a possible winner but it turns into a loser, right ?.... but what of the trader whom took the other side of your trade? Were they the likely loser who became the unlikely winner ? So now you know that someone knows your intentions, you can now work out their own, correct ? and what if u...

    Trading and Disappearing Liquidity

I'm no expert on ECNs but could it be that the offer was really an ask with fractional decimals, that appeared cheaper than it actually was, and used in combination with a stop to cancel the offer?

    Interactive Brokers TWS Bug Thread

I'm talking about the regular TWS API that all retail customers can freely use ... Not the FiX protocol. I have no idea if FiX customers are getting these disconnects, I guess not, but that's besides the point.

    Interactive Brokers TWS Bug Thread

The disconnections on HMDS server have been ongoing, since the EU open, an hour ago. I understand there is a backup server - but the corruption of the any open charts is very annoying. If you're not prepared to *fully* hand over all TWS clients over to the backup server (i.e force all...

    Margin for ES/NQ spread trade?

So the correct ratio is 1ES:2NQ. Maybe 2ES:3NQ works out as 1ES:2NQ with credit - and 1xES / 1xNQ remainder at normal margin.

Which Tick Charts do you prefer for Day-Trading?

IMHO, if you really know your market then it doesn't matter what size or type of chart you're looking at. The underlying is the same on all charts.

    Margin for ES/NQ spread trade?

Yeah, I would like to know this too: You get a credit for an "odd" spread ?

    Interactive Brokers TWS Bug Thread

I noticed that the Windows Updates from 13/14 Nov have reduced my system performance slightly, FWIW. Can't say I notice much difference in TWS - but I'm still using older version from June Win 7 sp1 / Intel Core-i5 / 16GB Ram / Intel SDD

    IB Automatic Adjustable Stop Order...

Using TWS... You can have a Trailing Stop. This will follow your entry order.... choose (i) tick for tick from the start. (ii) tick for tick from a trigger price. I think (ii) is called adjustable stop in TWS. You can adjust it one time only or adjust one time and then trail. You can not...

    Two beginner questions about futures:

I will highlight the role of the Futures Exchange & how it relates to many of the traders that will be reading this: 1. The primary function of the Exchange allows commercial operators to pass price risk onto speculators. -or- 2. The primary function of the Exchange allows speculative...

I have a problem (RE: Competition / Price Action / Swing Trades / Reversals )

You are very rude. Even so, your post gives me the opportunity to add some more material that a may aid any debate. "you don't know how to trade" Well apart from knowing to buy low and sell high; I still have much to learn. "you don't have a plan" If you mean 'the market is at 100, I...

I have a problem (RE: Competition / Price Action / Swing Trades / Reversals )

Background: I'm a price action trader looking for small time frame price swings (5 - 30 minutes). I'm keeping my eye on all the common things like EUR / ES / OIL / Dollar Index / TICK / TRIN / Key Stocks. I don't have any lagging indicators so I'm purely trying to trade on a...

Sophistication of current market making algos

Have we reached the era where algos can track the order book, track where market orders (& marketable limits) traded: how the book has changed in response to said trades, and scale the markets in the hunt of stupidly tight stops ? I mean; algos limit orders are always on the move, where as...
