Completely understand why HFT must exist

Did he look into using a quantum Turing machine? Prehaps trading ends when quantum computers appear. Their new HFT algorythm with entangled Cayce computing will place their front running order nanoseconds before you do! Trading will end with a whimper not a bang.

When the boomers lose their pensions. That's when it will get violent.

We absolutely agree here. Three years ago on the cruise ship when many people were asking me what I thought we should do, I said this same thing. The solution will not come from the two political parties, but the common folk who stand up and say that is enough. I really do have faith in the...

When the boomers lose their pensions. That's when it will get violent.

In Chicago, Al Capone supposedly owned judges since he knew this is where the real power lay. One judge squealed about it and the FBI fixed some of the problem. Don't think for a moment that the courts are not already controlled by the real power interests. That doesn't mean every decision made...

When the boomers lose their pensions. That's when it will get violent.

I have an idea to help balance the budget rather quickly. I doubt Obama will take it though. Since teaching can be delivered through the internet with a bunch of super-teachers from a central location, use the internet to change the way education is delivered. Layoff 90% of the teachers...

When the boomers lose their pensions. That's when it will get violent.

For an idea of what will happen, look at Russia when the wall came down. Hardest hit of all were the fixed income pensioners. I think many starved. The best was the organized criminal element (not the politicians I mean).

Absolutely true. And history shows that they ALWAYS lose this bet. Period.

    Option Question about Delta

In the interest of full disclosure here. I am a card-carrying member of DENSA - the other 98%.

When the boomers lose their pensions. That's when it will get violent.

No problem. Congress has passed the legislation over the slow holiday season to deal with it. Now look for a new prison building program as a job creation strategy. No more messy legal rights for protestors. I sometimes wonder is this is how it was in Germany in the lead up to WWII...

    Option Question about Delta

I believed that (when I was a beginner in trading), the CBOE could directly manipulate the markets, however these days the trading done by them is so tiny compared to the other participants, that I doubt they can do much directly. This kind of interference is done with "Surprise!" margin...

    Option Question about Delta

Sle: Europeans would at least use a cappuccino option instead of a vanilla flavored one. What a clever trap you set. Strange, when some individuals post and I don't understand things they say, then I assume it is my own ignorance and there is something more for me to learn. Some people...

Black Hole Debt - 16 Trillion Dollars

The strangest thing to me is that I think that the US taxpayers almost all think it won't be them that pays in the endgame. The poor ones say I don't pay taxes so I won't have to pay and the wealthy ones say I can use legal methods to reduce my taxes or move somewhere else and so I won't have to...

Completely understand why HFT must exist

Me too .... its so that people can endlessly talk about it and blame their losses on something outside themselves while re-assuring themselves their gains come from their brilliant trading skill. In short it keeps people in the game who shouldn't be in the game. I have long maintained that...

Corzine," and my final answer is..."

... but doesn't the military (by their own admissions) routinely lose big money. Multiple billions from what I have read in both this administration and the former one. I don't ever remember anyone even raising an eyebrow in the mainstream media. Just a small article on the back pages of the...

Will either of these same excuses be used by the democrats after the election? Enquiring minds want to know!

Corzine," and my final answer is..."

It is so hard to know what to watch on TV today. This gong show or the gun running incident and subsequent coverup by the law enforcement agencies supplying the mexican drug lords with weapons. Makes me wonder what we don't know about now but will be on TV in the near future.

    CFTC Rule Revision

I am unclear what happens after the 180 days. For the previous rule (monitored by regulators we all thought) all customers were impacted as their cash money disappeared along with the CEO, the employees were impacted as they were fired, and more questions than answered have appeared. That was a...

    Accidental Americans

If he is lying, then how come articles confirm that many others are in the same boat? The main issue is that many countries are taxed on income in the country and the US (I believe) is taxed on income wherever it is earned. The US desperately needs money (as do all governments these days) and...

    Accidental Americans

Does anyone know any good tax lawyers who are well versed in the issue of Canadian and US tax laws? I have a Canadian friend whose husband is an "accidental American" (born in the US but has never lived or worked there). He believed he'd renounced his citizenship in 1982 as the rules at that...

What is the optimum tax rate on the wealthy?

Great idea. Lets tax excess weight, excess stupidity, excess height, excess "you know" length etc. Let's all be completely equal - the socialism dream.
