last time I saw something like this was in AH, a smaller number on the offer, but it finally was eaten through, price moved up 4 or 5 points above the price where the ask-size stood, but then, when it came back down through, it was a 1 way ticket to palookaville. can anyone tell me how they...

This is option expiration week. often, one side gets burned, and then the other side gets burned. today, it looks like the final swipe at the call owners. later in the session, though (or tomorrow) it will probably be the put-owners turn to get burned. with a run-up to the 1235-1245 area...

Great call, smilingsynic. what made it so appealing as a sellzone, above the pivot and below the AH H? Nice trade, JSSPMK. wow, a virtual one way move.

Spectre2007, could you offer some sort of rationalization about the potential for 2 limit down days? JSSPMK had a dream about a limit down day. Did you have a dream about 2 limit down days? I'm not trying to be sarcastic, I am wondering what has caused you to fear 2 limit down days?

smilingsynic, you can't even get a calculated pivot series for the RTH on mypivots.com, so standard user might be someone who uses 24hr globex.

smilingsynic, even though you weren't there to reap the rewards, great call. this last lift has just registered a capitualtion style volume spike on the 1min, usually, a little consolidation, a little retrace, then a final lift.

Iloveoptions, I had to post about your mistake because it reminded me of a friend of mine. This is an absolutely true story. I have a friend who trades futures one day a month. At the time of this event he was trading 160 contracts on a trade. It was the aftermath of an FOMC...

psychological observations: I don't know whether today's higher oil prices will be a burden to this holiday shortened session, but profit-taking in oil ahead of the holiday weekend might set-in, and that would be a positive. right now, the ECB did nothing to surprise the markets, what...
