    Depth of ES Market

Depth of market on the ES (and NQ for that matter) is useless, IMO. Orders are placed and pulled all the time - what you see is hardly ever what you get.

    sweeping out profits

Well, you obviously missed my whole point. I'm not paranoid about anything.
  3. Q

    sweeping out profits

Here is another reason maybe to not keep more than you need to trade in your account. Say you are in a futures trade and for whatever reason something very unusual happens and the trade goes against you in a huge way - some sort of world event or even some sort of electronic screw up that you...

How can something be profitable on entry?

Going down with the ship ...

What will that system be called? May I suggest the "Options based ATM Machine"?
  6. Q

Going down with the ship ...

Aphie - You ever notice how you give yourself such a broad number of ways to be correct that you can't ever be wrong? For some reason you think that being wrong as long as you've supposedly accepted being wrong up front is just as good as being right. Makes for far less pain I supposed...

Going down with the ship ...

Why do you choose to "discount Friday" on that chart? I suspect it's because it spoils what you want to see.
  8. Q

Going down with the ship ...

Thought you were taking a break from trading and from here? Do you actually lack as much self control as it seems you do, or are you just pulling our legs?
  9. Q

    Who's responsible?

Read your agreement, but it more than likely says that you would have been responsible for whatever happens while entering orders electronically. Every agreement I've seen says that.
  10. Q

    Taxes

Of course, there is a ton of info at http://www.greencompany.com - and a couple of reads on 1256 contracts.
  11. Q

    Taxes

Are you saying it you elect MTM (which you can only do for stocks) you loses the 60/40 split on the 1256 contracts?
  12. Q

    Taxes

It is most certainly a mess. However, I find the rule about futures contracts/trading to be pretty easy - especially vs. equities/options.
  13. Q

    Taxes

Section 1256 contracts are already MTM. You don't have to elect that. In fact, electings MTM has no effect on Section 1256 contracts as far as I know.
  14. Q

    Taxes

The tax rules are totally different when it comes to futures. Your "trader" status doesn't have any effect on futures and their taxes. The deductable limits are totally different - the $3000 rule does not apply - in fact, if you have a lot of losses this year you can file amended returns for...

E-mini S&P, To Slippage or not to Slippage

Well, I guess I assumed he was asking about negative slippage, since one would usually not be concerned about positive slippage.
  16. Q

E-mini S&P, To Slippage or not to Slippage

How could it be possible to have "slippage" on a limit order?
  17. Q

    Mistruths about Options

    Where are the mistruths?

    Aphie's REAL Trading Journal

No, I'm going to ask you why, if you "know" of these things that will be problematic, did you not resolve them before you started trading. Doesn't make much sense, unless you are just needed some things to use as reasons for not performing as you expected.
  19. Q

    Aphie's REAL Trading Journal

Did you just realize that you were trading in an orange office with no windows?
  20. Q

    Aphie's REAL Trading Journal

It's funny - when things happen in the market that cause people to lose money, it's because of these "games" that "they" (these supposed people that do this sort of stuff) play caused our method to temporarily stop working. But if things happen in the market that cause people to make money...
