Thanks. Yeah, I agree it's overkill, but should be pretty nice. As of now I have no intention on using it for gaming. But yeah, if I do in the future, I would need more robust video cards.

I'm sure they'll alert me, or make the necessary substitution, if a certain component isn't compatible. I wanted to keep the system as quiet as possible. I have no plans to overclock. I think air-cooled should be sufficient.

Yeah, I have decided against RAID. My selected hard drive set-up should suit my needs. Besides, I do have a cloud back-up, as well as a NAS for all of my music.

Thanks. It comes down to this: i7-39xxk or dual Xeon E5-2620s. I spoke with Puget today, the salesman I spoke with didn't think I would notice the difference, so he recommended the i7. But I am inclined to go Xeon anyway. Other than the CPU, I am pretty sure I am going to go with 2x AMD...

Precisely. The excel sheet ties uses all four cores and really drives the temps up. I realize excel is not the best tool to use, but that's a different discussion. I use tpfancontrol to monitor/adjust temps.
