    How is everyone so wealthy?

Yeah, a million isn't much these days, unless of course, you don't have a million.

Wasn't 1502 a buy stop? Meaning if price rose to 1502 he would cover and be out? I think he also said if filled. I'm guessing price didn't reach there, and he eventually covered lower. No mystery there.

OK. Stupid mistake for the day. Went short at 1412.75, and set a SL at 13.75. Covered at 11.75, and forgot to cancel the SL. Yep, those trades on the little spike up at 13.75 were mine. Of course, I'm then long. Cover that at 12.75, wiping out the earlier profit. I wish the Transact...

What if Fed statement is unchanged today?

Why is the FED meeting always it seems 1-2 days before jobless claims, PPI, CPI, etc. I assume they already have this data in one form or another, but why not wait until after these reports come out? I mean, why not in effect say, "we see what you see, and here is what we think." Instead, we...

SEC Sues Hong Kong Couple Who Made 8.2 Million From Dow Jones Stock (on Buyout Bid)

The waiter in your example incurs no criminal or civil liability. He inadvertently learned of material non-public information from an insider. The insider did not intend to disclose the information to the waiter, and obtained no direct or indirect benefit from its disclosure. As the Supreme...

SEC Sues Hong Kong Couple Who Made 8.2 Million From Dow Jones Stock (on Buyout Bid)

Your kidding right? ML alerted the SEC. The SEC then went to court and got an order freezing the customer's account. Does that sound like something ML wants to base an advertising campaign around?

BLSH, I generally like the stuff you post, but you are missing the mark here. She wasn't charged with insider trading because what she did was not a crime. It wasn't because they couldn't prove it. It wasn't a crime. Period.

Jesus! The number of people here talking out their ass is amazing. http://www.thesmokinggun.com/archive/marthaindict1.html Do you see the words insider trading mentioned anywhere in the indictment? JSL got it right again. As usual.

SEC Sues Hong Kong Couple Who Made 8.2 Million From Dow Jones Stock (on Buyout Bid)

BLSH, you need to read a little further down the article you posted: "These types of cases generally involve bystanders overhearing conversations of corporate insiders and then trading on the information learned. Because the bystander has no duty to the corporation or anyone else, he may...

I scalp the ES with nothing but limit orders. I did 6 scalps today, with some entries being scaled in. If I'm going short at the market, I hit the bid and then cover by placing an order on the bid. So, slippage is 1 tick. Going long, I take the offer, and cover with an order on the offer. If...

This is why I don't like trading in front of news events. Fundamentals trump short-term technical analysis. I have no edge when it comes to economic analysis. Hell, even the economists have no edge it seems.
