nasdaq quotes on nyse stocks was corrupted... bids higher than offers all over the place.... made for a tough morning...

last trading day for me was wednesday... got greedy and got smacked.... gs upgraded the oil service and i didn't cancel as i should... oh well.. off to drop my daughter at college...gonna make it a long weekend.... come to think of maybe i should have gone to college...

i love the open... i do 80% of my trading by 8:31 am cst.... we should close for lunch and open again...

sounds like he or hwoever is playing the news and watching nyse indications... there are times when regionals have weak hands bid or offers that are what one would call "ripe for the picking"...i have done this myself on occasion... got to be fast and willing to get eaten on occasion...

when we were on the floor we used to have our new clerks go to the stock desk and ask for a box of upticks... cruel yes...but funny as hell... maybe our poster thought we still had some left...:D

i have a great idea... talk to your risk manager at your clearing firm... he's probably the guy who asseses those charges... when all else fails read the instructions... sometimes i just don't believe what i read on this board...

unfortunately...yes... natural longs selling...size...and entry time...market orders also... if you get in to close to the open you can get shut out...

it's an excel spreadsheet with dde links that updates dynamically and takes a snapshot of the position at 15 minute intervals till 10:30 am... i enter my skew for that days openings and it generates what my bid and offer should be... if the stocks crosses these points on the opening then...
