It's not capitalism.....it's membership...if you are a NYSE member it wouldn't cost you that...membership has isn't privileges....but all securities organizations must submit their rules for public display with the sec.....check their archives in the future for any rules of the SRO

Very true and make sure you use a clearing firm that is diversified, solid and has been doing clearing for many years....some firms went self clearing only because they had some daytrading volume...now they are precariously close to the edge because as volume dries up they only know...

Just because something is illegal doesn't mean its still not done....but the NASD is 'usually' pretty good about this however, ecn's do allow for this type of trading....alot of up start ECN's would pay a room full of traders to buy millions of shares of a stock an the other side to buy...

Ok Q. the reason it's illegal is that it creates a false market...for instance: You are sitting there trading and you have Volume break outs as one of your parameters....and a stock called ABCD pops up on your filter and says it's now traded 100,000 shares today , when in fact it's 4 week daily...

it's illegal.....unless your are merrill or Citi and are pitching Enron and wocm to your clients to buy while you are selling...then it's ok:D

What is a hedge fund???????? I think you need to clarify that before you proceed because the BOA and SEC version of a hedge fund is MUCH different then the Elite trader version of a hedge fund.....The rules and regs of the SEC pertain more to traditional Money Management...not daytrading...
