does the money make you happy?

Wealth is a moving target for most people. For me, hitting 1 MM from advantage gambling was a big milestone. You kick back a while, then you realize that you really wanted to have 1 MM in assets after taxes. Or that others in your field are making 2 or 5 or are on their way to 10 MM. A kind...

Spydertrader's Jack Hershey Equities Journal II

One thing is unclear to me. At what point do you remove stocks from the Final Universe for not meeting eps, volume or float criteria? For instance REDF has negative eps listed in qcharts. Is it immediately disqualified? Traveler

Anyone recently banned or put in manual execution?

What kind of dollar amount are we talking about here? Seems like the best strategy would be to bet big from the start picking them off on lagging quotes. It would maximize the dollar value of it before you get backed off. Or are they going to toss you the first day your account goes...

Volatility or Annualized Returns - What's More Important

I understand the desire for quantifying and controlling risk. But at some point you need absolute dollar returns. $1 risk-adjusted still only buys $1 at the grocery store. Traveler

NTRI popped late this afternoon, but volume was 1 MM shares at the close, short of 1.2 MM for FRV by the chartscript. Is there a rule for entering when a stock doesn't strictly meet the morning or end of day rules but is clearly moving out of dry-up on a volume surge? Traveler

I didn't see NGAS hit DU by 10:30 or FRV by end of day using the WealthLab scripts. I did get in CTHR as it hit dry up early but didn't see FRV by the close. Traveler

Pro Poker Player + Pro Trader?

These guys are correct in saying that gambling doesn't scale well. But it depends on how much money you have. You can make 100% a year on bankrolls up to say 200k, then it gets very difficult to get that kind of return on a bankroll above 200k into 7 figures. Maybe in poker, but in casinos games...

    1% a day consistently: possible?

Gambling doesn't scale very well. You can make 100% a year on the first 100k capital but after that it gets a lot harder.

Interactive Brokers to make significant investment in OneChicago

Stock futures are just an end-run around changing Reg T. It would be much simpler to just keep the liquidity of the equities exchanges and just let people use more leverage. Of course the downside is you have to pay a haircut on equities leverage as a retail customer but not on futures...

    Trading from a Cruise Ship

Expect decent data speed in bursts, but it is the 500ms pings that are going to kill you. It's a long way to outer space and back. Wireless data is expensive too. Expect to pay .50 per minute or so and that's if you buy a package of minutes upfront. Get flat before you leave and then enjoy...
