    Chinook's EUR/USD (E/$)Mumblings

I have it streaming to my computer. Just go to the Bloomberg website. BTW, seems like crude oil is getting used as an excuse by some EURUSD traders now to drag down trading a little. IB still manages to do their own feet-dragging today. :) edit: ROFL, he lastly added that he thought the...

George Soros up next on Bloomberg. Wow, almost primetime advertising against Bush on Bloomberg so near the election .. or will they try to roast him like a dry, salty peanut ? :D Wonder if he has a short USD position still and what's his recent take on the EURUSD move - if he'll speak...

    Chinook's EUR/USD (E/$)Mumblings

Seeing how the dwindling USD and sky-high double deficits raises concerns by the Fed about attracting future foreign investments, it is clear that countries are getting worried about financing the US deficit by buying USD and continuing supporting a consumer-regime that maybe has it's days...

    Chinook's EUR/USD (E/$)Mumblings

Update: nope, TWS is useless right now. It gets sluggish real quickly again after restarting. Got chopped 2 times because their quoting was completely messed up. The quotes into my apps were giving weird signals - need to make some "warning flag" for situations like this. That's it for today...

    Chinook's EUR/USD (E/$)Mumblings

It seemed all that was needed was a restart of TWS, it's fine again now. Also tested the chart backfill - which also is working after the restart. That's why all support staff always asks - "have you tried restarting?" as their first question. It solves many vague problems many times. Will be...

Yes, and I have bad experience with trailing too ... I guess I'm better at discretionary stops. :) edit: It seems TWS is very sluggish now. I will stop trading, watching for a little now - and see if it improves. Hope they get it in order for tomorrow which will be fast-paced IMO.

    Chinook's EUR/USD (E/$)Mumblings

Yes, it probably has some effect, but I think "popular talk" and perceptions are also affecting it sometimes. In the lack of other catalysts like numbers, events etc. the EURUSD sometimes takes hold of some other important moves, perceptions in e.g crude oil. I'm long 1.2735 on my spot FX...

    Chinook's EUR/USD (E/$)Mumblings

Still seems like choppy trading for now. I guess there will be some further statements from both US and EU pundits, so big moves could be related to this - OR - the crude oil futures could get back into focus again. I'm a little less inclined to trade for now. We still have the time-events...

    Chinook's EUR/USD (E/$)Mumblings

I'm not used to use hard stops, it's not part of my normal trading. I think that it should have been there though, and I should have been stopped out, while maybe getting back in if I was a perfect position trader. However, I still use my "fear" to be careful and not trying to overdo things - so...

    Chinook's EUR/USD (E/$)Mumblings

Just did a quick 6 ticks short as well, it seems to be stalling for a little around this perceived resistance-level, although it has gone through various stops here. Hmm, it extended a few ticks further down for some chopping stop-run it seems. This further enforces my view of stalling around...

    Chinook's EUR/USD (E/$)Mumblings

I guess I should have been stopped out, but I didn't wake up early enough. Instead I see a nice profit ... albeit only for a few contracts. Oh, well - just goes to show what a bad position trader I am - not using hard stops. Thomson was stopped out at 1.2750 - too bad they didn't get to...

    Chinook's EUR/USD (E/$)Mumblings

Yes, I'm still playing the long-shot. I had no IB problems today or any day recently. I saw there was problems with a Hong-Kong server, but I don't know if they have any backoffice upgrading underway as well - since so many reports of problems are surfacing. I have a quite wide stop, but I...

    Chinook's EUR/USD (E/$)Mumblings

Now those guys at Thomson went short at 1.2720 ... They admit a tight stop of 1.2750 but a whopping target of 1.2620. I think they got a little careless with this one, perhaps by the success of the other. Considering the numbers and upcoming events mentioned earlier it's highly uncertain what...

Hope you didn't fold in the dip around asian markets open. I think the asian markets have shown a lot of feisty buying of € lately, so it's worth a try. We could see more 1.2700-toggling though before a good move builds. :) edit: those clever guys at Thomson went flat at 1.2685 .. the...

    Chinook's EUR/USD (E/$)Mumblings

Forgot to mention the timeframe ... I admit it can be tricky to sit this one out druing the US GDB growth number release friday - even the weekend before the election and perhaps added significance to jobless claims tomorrow. Therefore - I will not hesitate to close whenever I feel it is getting...

    Chinook's EUR/USD (E/$)Mumblings

I think that it could be "ok" to enter a long around 1.2700 even. Perhaps not the best entry - but I think we'll definitely go higher towards the mid-levels of 1.27 "soon enough". It's not bottom-fishing - just a longshot. :) I will try this as a very small position. I guess around 1.2660...

    Chinook's EUR/USD (E/$)Mumblings

I think Carl Larry with Barclays Capital Inc on Bloomberg just now had some good valid points about the inventory number not being a good excuse for the slide today. The slide was exaggerated and inventories were the lowest number going in to the winter season ever. We could see a bounce...

    Chinook's EUR/USD (E/$)Mumblings

Seems the big moves has fueled the story-makers out there and Thomson reports sighting dubious rumors about Washington releasing strategic reserve, important al-queda capture and imminent surprise-spring on Kerry campaign by the Bush camp. I am chuckling here ... :D Taking a look at the...

    Chinook's EUR/USD (E/$)Mumblings

Going long on my demo spot FX at 1.2708. It will take a little time - but I'm looking for the next 1.2760-area. Stops around 1.2660. It's just a "lucky guess", though ... nothing very scientific.

    Chinook's EUR/USD (E/$)Mumblings

Hmmm, I think I called that range pretty good, although I didn't have the courage to get the full extension of it. We will probably get into choppiness now, but look for some better move towards the end - possibly 1.2700 toggling.
