For a short term overnight hold at a daily low pretty much within reason guarantees a quick profit the next morning. I have been doing this nearly every day (when I was in cash), since I started trading FAS and FAZ, and I have made money each time. Maybe not a ton, but always left the position...

Please just remember that FAS and FAZ were never meant to be held...So so many people have lost money waiting for these to recover. My cousin was lucky to get on board FAS when it was $4 and he sold it at close to $10 last week. Lucky him...but hedging by hold both sides is a loosing game...

You are kinda missing the bet. Even in this strong bull market (you know what I mean), the market always has a quick dip in the morning, even if the trend is up. It's people in the morning doing a quick sell off. On monday its a bit more dramatic, and it's also more dramatic after a market high...

the price is even better right now. When the DJIA hits these higher highs like this, the sell off is rather dramatic on monday.

I placed a market order for FAZ at blip of 7.97, executed at 8.01. I am FAZ long for the weekend., this is the 2nd highest high in the dow we've seen since march 6th. At least it's looking that way at the moment. So I think monday will look good for low priced FAZ holders.

there is is, the market dumped it. back down to 8.16 in an instant. That's one hell of a red candlestick.

I am having a hard time pulling the trigger on FAZ right now. It seems to be hovering around a high point, which is obviously the worst time to buy, I am not convinced we are at bottom at the moment. Could be, but not sure.

a lot of banks require 100% margin maintenance on the 3x etfs. My bank does, so my leverage is 1:1, but with 3x leverage its like 3:1 on a normal stock.

I almost bought in when it started flying, by the time I got there it was already at 8.50....not a great price to buy. However, it turned around again. Keeping sharp eye on it though, its those crazy movements that make me jump too fast. its around 8.40 at the time of this post.

But its been a downward bias since day 1, it's only had significant gain's during SHARP downturns in the market. $13 FAZ I think was an amazing phenomenon and I never expected it to reach that high any time soon, but when the market does spin down outa control, FAZ is a good thing to be holding...

I wasn't even talking to Port, I am not sure I even read his post, I was just talking to you guys, and as I was following this thread because I trade FAS and FAZ. I wasn't even aware that Port was having a problem. My sincerest apologies. Scot
