Some of the electronic platforms seem to have missed the switch over and seem to be blaming the brokers.

    How much nerve

Depending on your commission rates, some like to simply make $20+/trade and crank out 1000s of trades a month, getting in/out certainly runs commissions higher but you also dont get greedy and pocketing the small increments all day long pays the bills.

$5000 of my $$$ at Dimension Capital

IMHO, if you want to be an indy trader, why not get a job as a clerk with a major firm or floor trader and learn the biz like generations before you? Its not really a job if you have to put up your own dough, dont get a salary and get charged to trade. Just see what salaries clerks/jr...

My result on a demo account

epic-- Its just my simple-minded opinion. With your enviable track record, perhaps an idea is to take every penny you can beg, borrow or steal and trade it. You seem confident that you will make millions very quickly. I am humbled by your trading prowess, as I should be. :D

    Non-disclosure contract

Even if they sign a 1,000 page document, which is wildly expensive to prepare, much less defend, how will you ever know if a client or their employee violates your agreement?

To profitable traders: How do you feel?

You take a rare few and extrapolate them to a universe. I would bet most indy traders make a comfortable living, but will never amass a real fortune. If you dont view it as a job to succeed at every day, you're roadkill. And most traders I know, have a number in mind and when they hit it, they...

To profitable traders: How do you feel?

Why not just say, it's a job, like any other job, and requires skill, on-going education and learning from past mistakes. Glorifying it or making it sound like you're a barbarian Hun intent on pillaging great villages, simply means you've never made or lost real money.

    Russells BIG Sister

Advertise? Theres probably a thousand PhDs, with unlimited computing power looking at every combination around. I dont think its a big secret or less crowded, just not as well-known here. Plus, the more liquidity, the more size that can float around, so I hope everyone reading this starts...

where have all the traders gone?

IMHO, the most vocal here are the most inexperienced - -those with something to offer simply get drowned out. A great example is when I asked who had read all the terms & conditions imposed by the retail fx broker/dealers and was told nobody ever has problems with them and its all cool.

    Refco Fallout

I dont care that much about it, and am not going to sift through 2,000 headlines, but if it helps, the article qoutes an attorney for IB sharing some interesting thoughts. I dont want to mis-qoute him, so I leave it to those interested to go find it. :D

    Refco Fallout

The both of you should go scroll through Dow Jones headlines today to see what an attorney for one of the bidders said about Refco LLC around lunchtime. I think it would answer many of your comments and counter-comments.

    New Version of Ninja Trader

IMHO, NT users should start their own user group on Yahoo or something to openly discuss pros/cons of NT. The NT folks always seem defensive/argumentative when asked direct questions or offered legit suggestions. Otherwsie good platform and yeah, I agree the new Dom is TOO wide.
