    Iterative Refinement

 Apparently the sequence was completed on 14:10 [close of] but not on 13:55 [close of]. Go figure!

    Iterative Refinement

I did not think permission to seek change existed on 13:50 [close of] bar. 13:05 [close of] bar marked the transition to new dominant mode (red) breaking RTL on incr. Volume. However, while moving from pt2 to pt3, increasing black Volume on 13:25 [close of] bar, caused change in dominance...

    Iterative Refinement

It does not look like a tape to me. We already have increasing volume to confirm pt3 of traverse. The only thing that's missing when bar 6 closes is return to dominance. So I asked myself a question: is it possible that the market is moving in non-dominant fashion when it creates VE?

    Iterative Refinement

Yes, on my chart bar 7 shows decreasing volume. But it also shows a VE and Jokari Window signal for change. I can not imagine VE being created while price is moving in non-dom fashion. Can you?:D :D And I would love to be able to do such a bar by bar analysis in real-time, with no hindsight as...

    Iterative Refinement

It does not necessarily contradict my interpretation of dom/non-dom logic. But the Volatility Extention is surely (or at least as I understand it) takes place while the market is moving in a dominant mode. So at some point the market had to have to return to dominance in order to create VE.

    Iterative Refinement

A very good question indeed. On my list of things to discover. One of the clues may be here:

Every single line on that chart has a meaning. Notice the green carryover channel. One could have skipped it and went with lateral movement beginning on 9:50 [close of] bar. However, it would have made 10:55 [close of] increasing red volume coming from lateral BO leaving one wonder when...

    Learning SCT through automation..

Check out bars12:35 and 12:45 [close of] both on increasing red volume. Red volume which develops how. One from spike and another from pennant BO. Again two of three cases where increasing dominant volume can appear while price is moving in non-dominant fashion. After leaving the lateral...

    Learning SCT through automation..

That's the real beauty. What I am also seeing is: 10:55 [close of] is a pt2 of the pink down traverse as confirmed my R2R gaussian ending at that bar. What's next? Pt3. 11:05 and 11:10 [close of] that deliver the increasing red volume are pennant FBO and spike bar. Both cases where increasing...

    Iterative Refinement

Apologies for an unintended confusion. My data provider shows decreasing black volume on 9:50 [close of] bar. This is obviously not the case on your chart.

    Iterative Refinement

Thank you for the explanation. This particular context seems to be the case where determination whether or not the bar represents dominance or non-dominance is irrelevant for the purposes of differentiating continuation from change. P.S. I got lost in 14:00-15:00 area. Do you consider 15:00...

    Iterative Refinement

Of course, if I were to follow the sequence from yesterday, then increasing black on 15:55 [close of] tells me no permission to seek change exists on 9:35 [close of] bar. In that case: (1) my attempt on reverse logic is meaningless, because one does not have a pt3 down yet at 10:10 [close of]...

    Iterative Refinement

Unfortunately, I don't. Spydertrader made multiple posts in the past 6-8 weeks with respect to pace change and expectation of laterals after increase in pace. Those included illustrations as well. My previous comments were an attempt to differentiate lateral formed after pace increase from...

    Iterative Refinement

If there was one, 10:10 [close of] would be lateral BO and increasing volume on that bar would not return dominance after retrace. There would have not been a completed sequence and without a completed sequence one does not have permission to seek change. But, obviously there was change on...

    Iterative Refinement

Technically, since no pace increase exists on 9:45 [close of] bar, no lateral exists after that bar either. Therefore the increasing volume on 10:10 [close of] bar does not come from lateral BO and black dominance returns. So sequence is completed and permission to seek change exists.

    Iterative Refinement

:) When change arrived on the 11:10 ES [close of] Bar, the market began a series of Traverses (dominant, non-dominant and dominant again) in an effort to complete an Up Channel sequence.

Why the controversy? Jack Hershey SCT system works just fine.

It's nice to be on the right side of a 50 point drop:D
