Would you short QM now or wait till it's reached $86?

If you can't tell the difference of "hold" and "trade" positions, I wonder how you write your journals. :sneaky: But good to know. And enjoy your journals... Good luck with your holding and trading futures. A lot of risks here.

Would you short QM now or wait till it's reached $86?

I think you get really confused. If you day-trade futures, you "hold" your positions during the day. You "trade" when you enter and exit your positions that you currently "hold". If you swing trade, you "hold" your positions during the day and night. Again you "trade" when you enter and exit...

Would you short QM now or wait till it's reached $86?

You clearly said you want to hold CL to expiration. Everyone knows what "holding" means. I can hold CL for day-trade or swing position. Holding has nothing to do with swing or day-trading. And you stated the "contradiction". Hope you not confused by yourself....

Would you short QM now or wait till it's reached $86?

Where is the contradiction? I've been trading commodity futures for 20+ years. First CL is a physical contract. There is the first notice day. You can't hold the contract to expiration. Anyone who trades CL should know that. Certainly you can trade QM contracts. If you want to hold the...

If Elon Musk canot keep his his twitter mouth shut should SEC/ U S Attorney indict him?

Other than those large banks that with investment and trading businesses, the regional banks have not had very good earnings. Their P/E ration is not attractive....

If Elon Musk canot keep his his twitter mouth shut should SEC/ U S Attorney indict him?

No freedom of speech concerning any comments on the stock that he owns. Period. This is why Elon was fined by SEC. SEC should have fined him much more, and at higher amount. Then he will learn how to keep his mouth shut.

If Elon Musk canot keep his his twitter mouth shut should SEC/ U S Attorney indict him?

No such thing of freedom of speech if what he said affects the stocks where he has material financial interest..... Even some grade school kids know of that.

Good Day To Buy Some Bank Stocks

Coiled spring? Not really. Look at the employment numbers. Most of those are low wage jobs. A lot people have decided to retire early, or stay home to have their own businesses. This is why we have "help" signs at many places. As for that truck contractor, he gets business because some...

Good Day To Buy Some Bank Stocks

Almost everything is expensive now. This is why Warren Buffet is not doing well because he can't find any "value" to buy. He won't buy TSLA, FB etc. He probably already sold his Apple and Google stocks. He would do well with his utility and infrastructure stocks.

Why does passive investing become so hot?

Is that SEC fine enough? Clearly not.

Why does passive investing become so hot?

Why? Because on the corporate level, we have so many idiots like Elon Musk to manipulate own stocks. Apple's Tim Cook is a clever one, but the same principle. So we take the market index, better equal weighted. So we get rid of the corporate noises.

    Crude Oil 2021-Q4

From looking at the CL daily chart, it appears CL wants to test $80 again tomorrow. This $3 daily drop is so heavy and convincing. The stock prices won't help much. Also, the selling volumes are much greater than the previous 3 daily volumes on up days. Some of the Dec to Jan contract...

Good Day To Buy Some Bank Stocks

Banks stocks? They do well mostly on the paper. So folks say that bank stocks do well when interest rate is up. It is not as easy as that. Right now, analysts predict US economy will experience slow future growth. This is the reason that the yield curve has been flatening. The short term...

Sen Manchin raises alarms on inflation - inflation to the American people is not "transitory"

There are many levels of mis-management, from many levels of governments to some businesses. The so called energy crisis is mainly man made. From abrupt green policy change, to public fears of fossil energy, then to the irresponsible bank analysts' statements. The latest EIA weekly oil...

Would you short QM now or wait till it's reached $86?

Always remember that if you trade futures, do not talk about "holding" the contract. This is no such thing. You need to trade it, not to hold it. Futures traders do not want to know the "fair" value of any asset. We want to know where the price is heading to within the time horizon we are...

Any new/good promotions for $200K account

I think only Merrill Edge offers regular promotions. Schwabs/Fidelity/Vanguard/TD Ameritrade may have some promotions for $100k+ capital.

Futures and Stocks in One Account

When you trade anything, say futures, IB will allocate some of your equity to the "commodity" portion and leave the rest to the stock/equity portion. So you have only limited buying power. When you place a new order, IB will calculate future margins on the fly. It won't allow you to place new...

Legal issue regarding trading for relatives

If one person managing several other accounts with different names, the trader must make sure there is no conflicts of the trades in each account. You can't buy stock ABC and sell stock ABC at about the same time. Brokers and regulators do not want to see traders trying to manipulate the markets.
