    loonie

I just got out of my USD/CAD long. Built a position for a couple of weeks through pyramiding. I was hoping the USD/CAD could go back to the way it was 1 year ago. I guess the US dollar is really weak and that the Central Bank is not really doing much to weaken the Canadian dollars. I am...

    Is FOREX a SCAM?

Just curious: Are we sure that the spikes are caused by the broker? I somehow got a feeling that Central Banks are behind this to deter speculators from trading. Could someone either confirm or deny this? Thanks! PA

    99 red balloons go bye

Looking at the fundamental of foreign currencies, import and export have a significant impact of GDP and unemployment. Exporting Countries could not afford to have their export and employment reduced by stronger local currency, especially in THIS recovery period which is highly crucial. USD...

New guys, now is not the time

Thanks for the heads up Dustin! I'll prepare for the chop in the coming months. You know, right now would be a great time for a vacation-like how Livermore would during a slow market. You can comfortably enjoy the profit you made in 2008. PA

The OP made some valid points. I am sure there are ways to get around it. Jesse Livermore did made money in a bucketshop. PA

Life after trading - busted traders

I traded at Swift Trade back in 2002. I didn't last. So I have now switched to a career in accounting. Trading is still my passion and I am looking for the day where I could become a profitable trader. PA

    Is FOREX a SCAM?

Thanks! I think most people are obsessed about risk/reward is because they were taught that way. However, most may not understand the statistical concept behind it. Also, depending on the timeframe, the instrument, and the comission/spread, rules have to be modified to enhance the chance of...

    Livermore, Tudor Jones and Cohen

I am familiar with how Livermore trade, and how he is able to more than double his account with an "operation", but one thing I never quite know is how he manage his risk and stop loss. It would be great if you could shed some lights on this. PA

    Is FOREX a SCAM?

Forex is not a scam. It is just very difficult to trade. Given the normal expected required risk/reward, it is very difficult to scalp the market. However, there are some good traders who could successfully scalp forex, but their expected risk/reward is different from the norm. However...

Yep, would the chart look something like this?

Who doesn't expect us to go up again?

It's gonna go back up, but no where soon. We will need to push the market down lower to the point where everyone think it's gonna collapse for sure. Then and only then the market is going to violently shoot back up and make a new high. PA

What is there to understand, really? Price goes up, price goes down, and price goes side way. What else? Trend identification? Consolidation identification? Reversal identification? Impact of fundamentals on TA? PA

Reality based coin-tosser method that beats 95% of traders in the world.

I believe him as well. The coin toss should work. In term of time frame, anything less than a day would be short term for a "trader" like myself. So, the move happened yesterday was indeed a meaningful move and that, in hindsight, it was a perfect set up for a coin toss strategy. PA
