    9% is the minimum rate for any ETF in IB. Most probably you become concentrated in one or two positions. This alternative margin test will set 30% rate for concentrated positions and 5% rate for the rest of the portfolio. Concentrated portfolio is something under your control and IB will not...

    In IB universal account there is no need to charge interest as long as at end of day you cover your margin with your liquidating equity and the value of your liquidating equity exceeds any T-bills you might have funded with.

    Just to be clear, Java is our choice for TWS only. This is just one of our front ends. Our language of choice was always C++.

    You could get 6x overnight with IB holding liquid well capitalized stocks. The account has to be diversified. One concentrated position will give you at least 30% margin rate.
