Very disappointed by lack of response from the mods.

It pretty much comes down to that.

GG still has a price target of 110. Mine is at 109.

    Bond rally nearing an end?

Resistance was futile in bonds and currencies. Oil is showing fabulous price action: after a failed attempt to hit 70, prices went back down to re-visit support at 68 and stopped at exactly 68.00 again before bouncing back. I'm surprised that 70 wasn't broken but that confirms my suspicion...

    Bond rally nearing an end?

Resistance under attack this morning. 107 for bonds and 85 for the dollar index. After establishing 68 as a rock hard bottom Wednesday, the oil market is now testing 70 as the upper limit of a trading range. A $2 range for oil would be very narrow so 70 will probably break.

    Bond rally nearing an end?

I think that the price action we had in the bond market during the past few days was residual activity from an ending trend exacerbated by concerns about the conduct of monetary and exchange rate policies. But things should get better now as our leaders are doing the damage control we were...

    Bond rally nearing an end?

Everything is technical analysis right now. We're in a tight nexus of resistance levels where oil bottomed at exactly 68.00 yesterday, bonds topped at 107'00 today, and the dollar index was two ticks away from 85 yesterday before coming back down.

    Bond rally nearing an end?

This is exactly the point were I would normally convert my outright long position into a bullish spread by adding puts to my calls with the intention of selling the puts after bonds correct -- that's my idea of trading around my position -- but instead I decided to keep things as simple as...

    Bond rally nearing an end?

The simple All items less energy core index at http://www.bls.gov/news.release/cpi.t01.htm has been growing at a steady rate of 0.2 per month lately with a total year-to-year rate of only 2.2%. This, at a time when inflation passthrough should have been in full force while the housing...

    Bond rally nearing an end?

I forgot to mention in my previous post is that if consumption is slowing down and that the only inflation passthrough we had while consumption was still strong was in Transportation, then the low inflation/deflation scenario becomes very plausible.

I finally figured out why I had to re-read your posts Voodoo-king. They're not just insightful and coherent but also contain the out-of-the-box thinking edge that helped me tie up of few loose pieces. Why is the Fed always overshooting and why this time it might pause earlier than what past...

I also stay away from currencies. It's a game where the rules are constantly improvised, at least that's the way it looks to me.

Except for the dollar, which is up. We have the same environment right now we had Monday morning before bonds rallied. Anybody who's not long? Here's another chance to get in.

    Bond rally nearing an end?

I looked at the sector breakdown this morning and inflation passthrough is still limited to Transportation. Apparel inflation was high for the second time in a row but is still low overall for the past 12 months. Health Care inflation is high but has been so steadily regardless of what else...

    Bond rally nearing an end?

Since you're bringing it up again I would like to ask you over which period was the seasonality calculated? If the period is something like ten years and you break up the period in roughly three different parts corresponding to the last three phases of the economic cycle since 1996, you should...

Another example of great teamwork. My quants had picked Tuesday as a one of the two optimal entry points and Tony came up with the explanation. Frickin' fantastic!
