Hold Brothers, which office?

All I know is that I have several traders in my office who had a bad experience with the two Polish guys from Caliber, who work from one of those offices. Apparently they they give you only a chop strategy while keeping your rates at .007 for a year, which is a typical churn-and-burn approach...

I'm thinking it's a shill for the website.

It's difficult to explain, really, because everyone's preference is diferent. Some people exclusively read the tape on news stocks, some people hate day trading and prefer breakout patterns at critical points in the market, some people identify leaders within sectors and play the laggards, some...

Is it because I dont care?

Could be. You could have a high risk tolerance because you subconsciously don't mind proving to yourself that you do not really plan to be a trader. It primarily sounds like you do not have a method for trading (if you're day trading, being able to trade countertrend days, momentum days, and...

Prop trading looks great, then why most retail traders don't simply join in?

That could be a part of it, yeah. I think a large part is also that prop trading drew a particular kind of "unsophisticated investor" during the boom, both with firms and traders. If you made a ton of cash buying dips and leveraging into net stocks, you decided, "Hey trading is easy, I'll why...

Prop trading looks great, then why most retail traders don't simply join in?

I'm stupid. I thought you said retail firms, not traders.

Prop trading looks great, then why most retail traders don't simply join in?

I've wondered that for a while. I figured it has to do with the degree of risk that can't be managed in clear-cut terms, and SEC restrictions. I'm sure the regulators do not want to deal with the broader market consequences if everyone suddenly switched to a higher risk, leveraged prop model.

It sounds like you're having a hard time understanding what's required of you when it comes to trading. You've got posts on the tape reading thread, then questions on which indicators to use, then questions on your earning potential. This is going to sound a little zen and irrelevant, but...

Antidepressants fail to cure the symptoms of major depression in half of all patients

Thanks a ton for the offer, although I need to read as much as I can about side effects, costs, and long term effects to find out what a getting on it entails. Also about why there isn't much discussion in the medical community. A cure for the kind of depression I know could really...

Antidepressants fail to cure the symptoms of major depression in half of all patients

Been reading about this opioid deficiency thing over the past few days and I have to admit it seems to fit my circumstances to a T. It almost seems like one of those big paradigm-changing light bulbs that could redefine how I perceive those big questions that motivate me. If it's all true...

Do you plan to do this as career forever?

What you're really asking is a question to yourself: Is this what I will do for decades to come? Is this a career, or is it just gambling? How many people on this board sincerely pursue trading as a day-to-day career? Your real question then is not whether others do it but whether you...

    prop firms

Good job so far. I just have an intuition that because you've found a certain niche that hasn't been filled efficiently you will probably get some degree of reward. Try putting some Google ads up, at least. I once had a friend who came up with a novel software innovation and made a website...

    Is this a good rate?

More specifically, I do 1-2 mil a month and have on average somewhere around .0035 all-in, and can get as much leverage as I need, so your deal could be improved. But since it's a firm you have no previous relationship with, you could probably sit with what you have until you prove you're not a...

Pretty decent. You could get a little better with that volume, but it's not bad at all.

I've been trading for 7 months now and still...

You may be right, and you may have a knack for finding losers. I couldn't care less. That doesn't change the fact that you have a repetitive habit of seeking out certain types of people and trying to prey on their insecurities, and I am simply pointing out the pattern I see. 9 times out of 10...

    prop firms

I agree with that also: it might be better to replace the commentary with more objective data, because it's often difficult to get a clear picture of which firms are most competitive just from the commentary on this board. Working prop in NYC exposed me to who I believe the larger...

I've been trading for 7 months now and still...

I've noticed over time that you are someone with low self-esteem who gains that very specific pleasure that comes from identifying people who are losing money and exploiting their insecurity. This will also be obvious to anyone else who reads your posts.

    prop firms

Just a note of caution -- be wary of sub-LLCs claiming to be "firms" who are just middle men for prop firms. I bet in the long run you will find a way to get very solid income from this service, just be keep abreast of who the dirty ones are that will try to use you as advertising, or pay...

    eSignal Suggestions and Improvements

One suggestion I'd like to throw out there: a drawing tool that colors the background of charts. Something like the line drawing tool that can paint horizontal bands on the chart in user-defined colors. I would love something like this. If I could code an efs file I would, but I...
