Friday am sold 10 1240 calls for $2.5 then sold the weekly 1235 10calls for $1.2 Sat early am I had an epiphany..a sudden clarity and vision where all the study...reading, modeling and trading the past 6 months finally made sense beyond just the intellectual understanding of options theory...

THANKS Phil you cleared that up for me...you need to train the help desk at TOS! That is not NOV 2 05, the 2 that follows the NOV is to differentiate it from the regular NOV SPX strikes. Phil :D

Thanks Ryan...I made it more interesting by selling the 1240 but not seeing the 1245 weekly..couldn't sell it today...may be monday can sell some

still don't see it...and after talking with support...still don't have it:mad: ..so went with door#2 and sold 10...of course got only 2.5 on 10 so now credit is (lets see effectively 1.75 if that were 20 contracts less .55 so 1.25..sort off:p)

Well...after being awake good part of nite thinking thru positions for my 1250 call.. 1) close for a profit..safe but boring 2) use 1/2 (10) to write 1240 ..live on the edge but have some wiggle room with the other 10 contracts..or 3) write 1245 and if I get 2.80 I would have a net credit...

Productivity numbers really turned the futures around...was thinking of selling at least 1/2 my contracts on the call side but will hold off at least another day. I do think, and have thought, we would be up just don't know how high:eek:

Hi ryan, 1240 is still a way with two weeks remaining. the chart I'm following shows the dow to be in positive territory and after today may be toping out..I'll be looking at getting in tomorrow at around 1240 if futures are pos...but don't know,,,1245 would be more secure since we haven't been...

If I may ask (so can understand the trade better) when the market did tank did you buy back the 1170 (nov) put? Then when the mkt went back up buy it back...do you play this type of trade or would you keep it until closer to nov exp? TIA donna

Just to clarify...I BOUGHT nov 1250 at .55 have NOT sold the spread YET....

Hi Murray..I assume your Bear call is a 1240/1250...what I did this am was buy the 1250 outright at .55 I sold another 20 PS at 1135/1125 for .60 so now my put spread is 1150/1125...I want to see what kind of steam this rally has before selling the short call. donna Murray wrote: 1130/1140...

The one neg on IB I heard, but may have changed, is they charge for xled or to change your order. as a woman I'm prone to change my mind so I like the fact with TOS I can xl or chg my order frequently...probably drive them crazy :)

I had an idea this weekend, thought I might try to implement it early this week. Since Rd and others are grabing some nice premium in the low 1100's I'm thinking of opening another PS say 1120/1110 might get about .80 then....on the call side go out to 1250 and go Long (cost about .55.) IF...
