1/4% Tax on all stock trades pushed in NY Times today

Which is exactly why it won't pass. The public issue is one thing. Let's say they deal with that. But the reality is that it will seriously hurt the US markets, and I don't think that anyone is going to be stupid enough to pass a bill that is actually counter-productive and hurts more than it...

1/4% Tax on all stock trades pushed in NY Times today

That will last about as long as it takes people to figure out that they are getting screwed. The average person will see their mutual fund fees rise, and any self-directed swing or position traders will see their commission costs rise by a factor of 5. That's not "getting the daytraders", that's...

Need to be happy to trade well

Ha ha... Ok, perhaps a slight exaggeration... but not by too much. It can be a few minutes generally, depending on market conditions. In a fast market, it will be a shorter time period, in a more choppy market I am much more picky so it takes longer until I am satisfied with a setup.

Which real live future trading room I should choose?

http://www.forexfactory.com/ They have a page with all the news release times, along with expected numbers. If it comes out better than expected, the number is green. Otherwise, it's red, or black if it's in line with expectations. That's all you need to know. :) You don't know for sure...

Which real live future trading room I should choose?

I doubt it. I could see them extending it to the end of the year or so, but it's really tough to predict at this point. There is a commercial real estate crisis that's starting to rear its head now. There are still lots of problems out there, and you can't fix things by just printing more money...

1/4% Tax on all stock trades pushed in NY Times today

They can't pass the tax without an exemption for all the big wall street firms, because the big boys will NEVER let that happen - it would kill their profits. At the same time, they can't give them exemptions either. If they do, the public is going to quickly realize that it isn't a tax on Wall...

Which real live future trading room I should choose?

That's very tough to say at this point. The market was due for a drop like this. We've got a big support level around 975 or so. I wouldn't be surprised to see it get there, but what happens after that will determine things. The problem with making market predictions in these times is that...

Which real live future trading room I should choose?

Well in my case I trade crude, so no - there is absolutely no way to trade tick by tick on that instrument. I never use the DOM, just a very short-range chart. Here is a quote from another thread on my method. It's probably the hardest thing to do in the markets, and I don't always do it. I...

Which real live future trading room I should choose?

He didn't really drop the ball - that's just how he trades. He never catches that big trend. Catching big moves is what all profitable trading is really all about, because that's where all the money is. Actually, he TEACHES and trades for a living. And he makes more money from his teaching...

Which real live future trading room I should choose?

Not likely, but I'll let you know. :) With TradeGuider they have something called the VSA club which is free to try for the first month or so I think (it was a while back anyways). You get to attend some webinar events where they describe VSA to you, and I think now they are allowing members...

Which real live future trading room I should choose?

You're welcome. There's actually a lot more that I could say which would really illuminate things - but like I said, I think I've already said too much! Good luck. :)

Which real live future trading room I should choose?

Both... prior to the day I generally have an idea of what I expect - for example, yesterday was a massive down day, so I expected some consolidation today, and that's exactly what is happening. I also monitor public sentiment to see what the ordinary people are thinking to get a contrarian feel...

Which real live future trading room I should choose?

Alright, look. I'm going to tell you something that I probably shouldn't, but this is the key to the entire markets. If you can figure this out, you will make a killing. Most people don't actually realize this, although all successful traders probably do. Think about this question: If I...

Which real live future trading room I should choose?

I've attended a couple of webinars with Heitkotter - he's a very nice guy, sounds like a truly decent person. I think he once gave away a trading course for $7, and a free copy of his book to anyone who wanted it. However, I don't like his trading methodology at all. He uses a combination of...

    Worst Remote Firms

Do the math. The firm in question mentioned in this thread charges you $12000 to trade their money, and then only lets you lose $30 per day. And if you lose $90 over 3 days, you are shut down. Does that sound fair? Sounds to me like a scam to keep your $12k. That's not a lot of leeway for error...

Need to be happy to trade well

Find a trading style that suits you. If you have a problem sitting there all day waiting for a trade setup, maybe you're trading the wrong style. Personally I am impatient as hell, and knowing this about myself, I never even tried to trade a system where I would have to sit there and wait for...

Which real live future trading room I should choose?

Yeah - I started out a long time ago thinking that trading was easy too. Actually, everyone starts that way. The sooner you realize how hard it is, the sooner you're going to be able to decide if you really want to do it or not. You really have to eat, sleep, and breathe this stuff if you want...

Which real live future trading room I should choose?

I'll tell you my setup since you're curious, but no specifics on my method. I trade primarily off of a 20 second chart since I am a scalper. I also have a 1 minute and a 3 minute. These are my primary charts that I stare at 90% of the time. I also have longer term charts further out of my line...

Which real live future trading room I should choose?

He is clueless. I already anticipated the market drop before it even happened, because I knew that after a runup like that and good news coming out, if it doesn't spike higher immediately and keep going, it's going to fall. Same thing in reverse - if terrible news comes out and the market...

Which real live future trading room I should choose?

Dude, that is ridiculous. The market was crashing like a stone for about an hour in the morning. If your teacher can't find some way to get into that move and only manages to scalp like 1 point, then he is a frickin' moron. Get rid of him. NOW. He doesn't have a damn clue what he is doing...
