    Oil bubble

ummm....well, i know there are hybrid cars, and I know that there is a little town in Florida that trucks in diesel to generate electricity, but my point is that it's dumb. power can be more efficiently generated by large scale ops like nuclear. transportation requires portable fuel and...

    Oil bubble

unacceptable and stupid. why curb demand for something that everyone needs and is perfect for the job? power generation should not be competing w/transportation for fuel. duh.

    Oil bubble

never should have let the enviro-girlie-boys scare us out of building nukes. Electricity should not be generated w/crude -- it's a nightmare of an arrangement, logistically. when oil was dirt cheap, it was fine. But that's not the case now. Electrical demand is suited for the sort of...

I hate to say such things, honestly. But I notice that, crawling all over wall street, are these Asian folk that Goldman worships and starts at like a quarter million and then they think Americans are so stupid and they act like they are better than we are but then again most people on wall...

    Oil, Bonds, Economy

it's like a wrestling match. and you get to change your bets depending on who's looking stronger. if pickens is right and we see 3$ gas, I'd say oil wins -- that is, high oil will do the job of interest rates and the economy will hit a wall.

Do markets have to be inefficient for you to capitalize on them?

no. you just need to be the house. but don't worry, markets are imperfect. strictly efficient markets are a creature of theory, like gravity without friction. It doesn't exist.

    U.S. DOJ investigating Milberg Weiss

apart from that really cool typo, I take issue with the apparent presumption that the "government" is somehow immune from excesses and abuses of power. It is not -- in fact, it is prone to them. Nobody can bankrupt an industry faster than the gummint. decentralization of power and/or the...
