For me, and I've been doing this for a while, today is more luck than skill. I caught the first spike to 1390.25 and went short within 1 tick of that high. Rode it down 3 points. Caught the spike to 1393.50 within 1 tick of the its high and rode it down 3 points. Humbly, I say it was more...

That's all well and good, but maintaining that position has cost you about 40 ES points from the 1407 buy. To me, whether its a small position or a large position, if I thought the odds were that I could considerably improve my position I would do that. Again, as I saw it, the odds of a...

    Short-term trading with Oscar

First of all Obi None, I'm not a subscriber to his site. As far as I know anyone can peruse the site for free. So, there is no way for him to boot from the site. Not that it would be a great loss, since there isn't really much there. Secondly, are you that niave? You think he is doing...

Speaking of correlations, has anyone seen any studies on the correlation of say the Asian market or the European market and the US market on a day by day basis? In other words, if the Asian or European markets are down/up is there a tradeable correlation with the US market? I know there are...

Actually no. I've never considered looking at the correlation. The infrequency of the futures rollovers would cause me to think any correlation is by chance. You would have to go back years to get any kind of a sample size, and I think the market dynamics over that period of time would be so...

Uh, yeah several times so far, but I did have to average up on my first short position. Phoney feeling or not, the prospect of a loss was real enough. :D

Was it just me or did anyone else think the run up this morning felt funny in a manipulated kind of way? I mean, the NYSE adv/dec. was about 1:3, the tick was unimpressive; most world indices were down; pre-market was down. It just seemed phony to me.

I don't position trade, so I guess I don't understand the logic, but if you don't see a resumed extended upside in the near future, then why not cover your 1407 (ES H7) buy and look to re-enter the long at a lower level? I say this particularly in light of the spike off of the lows we've had...

    Short-term trading with Oscar

I realized what a poser "Oscar" was when he claimed on a flash update on his site on March 9th that he had gone long the ES at 1413.50 before the 10 handle jump after NFP number. The only problem for Oscar was that the ES never traded down to 1413.50. It only traded down to 1413.75. And then...

Question to B1S2: We have reached the 1407 area where you last added a long position. Any thoughts to covering that position, and looking to re-enter on a pull-back?
