    NQ Trades

Well written journal. I recognize a lot in your journal about the discipline issues in myself. Also our trading styles seem similar (coincidence?). We also might be in about the same phase of development. From what I read I think you are a good trader indeed and possible great...

Anybody been trading this rocket today? This was like the bubble days, what a party! I guess NITE cleaned up today. As soon as WAVX hit $5 it started showing 100000 shares on the offer. I took this as a signal to go short. I was also confident in the short because what goes up this fast, has...

    Scalping ???

About the stop losses; I am actually rarely in a position where the momo is with me, so I cannot put a stoploss where momentum ends. My stoploss is extremely tight when the market goes against me. - But, I only trade Nasdaq, which is much different than futures.-

    Scalping ???

Dear brother Scientist, 1) I wouldn't know. If daytrading or swingtrading is easier, that would mean I just hit the jackpot :D 2) Yes, it does work. 3) You bet! 4) Order routing is my business. Instinet, Island, Archipelago, Brut 5) I don't do NYSE stocks at all. I like to be in...

    Scalping ???

I am a "scalper" on the nasdaq. i wouldn't say it's the hardest, most difficult way of trading. You just need, as nitro said, the fastest executions and the lowest commissions. The biggest difference with other forms of trading would be that you are so close to the market, you get to "feel"...

Discipline - ideas to improve it

Very interesting subject. Discipline makes or breaks your trading imo. I am awfully indisciplined also (especially in trading). Fortunately I am still able to squeeze out a little money now and then. I don't have any particular methods for instilling discipline, but I find I do better when...

    Listening to music while trading

My music is Ben from the squawk. Scientist, if you like trance you shouldn't forget Leftfield. He's the king!

    Can you get "it" back?

Interesting thing is: I am reading Goleman's Emotional Intelligence and it says to be in a state of flow (the most productive state) doesn't feel like work at all!

    Can you get "it" back?

Ramoutar: I don't know, because I remember it also involved a lot of work and sacrifice.. But I trust it will come back.

    Can you get "it" back?

"Give me ALL YOUR MONEY, except for 30K, and then try to make a living on your newly improved small account" Don't bother, I spent it all :D And I am trading the company's money btw. It's funny, but since Gotta Trade's comment on not fearing if it will come back or not, I don't worry...

    Can you get "it" back?

Good point. In that case I should quit trading and bum around, party every day.. That's where my real motivation lies at the moment :-) Unfortunately, I don't think it will be a sustainable situation.. what do you think?

    back from the dead

You are trying to relive the Edison experience (1000 failed lightbulbs) aren't you? I think the advice to get a job isn't that bad. I am in the same boat as you are. My trading isn't going that well either. In order to get some perspective from outside the trading world I should get a job too...

    Can you get "it" back?

I don't know how to state this precisely, but I'll try; When I started trading (at a prop shop), I set myself the goal to make some coin, prove myself I can do it! Become one of the best traders! Now that I've attained that goal some time ago, I kinda lost it. Not making nearly as much...

    what f*ck just happened

If exchanges can't bust trades nothing bad would happen. Manipulation is part of the game. A beneficial outcome would be that the big trader who makes the mistake pays for his own fault instead of the little man..
