    TOS Changes Clearing Firm

Does TDAT now have clearing for futures? They did not when I checked a couple of years ago but said they would at some point in the future. Penson does handle the clearing of futures contracts. Penson seems to me to be a poorly managed company. All considered, I would feel better with TDAT...

    IB TWS software

The browser based TWS is a great trading platform with TWS's fast data. For charting, QuoteTracker works well with the TWS data and/or TD Ameritrade data.

    MB Trading frustrations

I think Interactive Brokers has an office in UK.

    Liquidation of positions upon death

Tyrant, Why not use a "Transfer on Death" form? Not all brokers offer this option, but many do.

Penson (PNSN) stock down on heavy volume

As bad as Penson is managed, I expect Penson to be a successful business in the future even if it takes a buyout of Penson by another firm. At this time, I would rather be a buyer of Penson shares than a short seller.

Penson (PNSN) stock down on heavy volume

I do not expect PNSN to double any time soon and until Penson fixes a lot of their problems (I think Penson is a poorly managed company that has many known problems that their management has done nothing to fix and correct). I think Penson is a takeover target at these low prices and that could...

QuoteTracker To Be Finished End of 2011

I would expect TDAT would have a non compete clause to protect the value of QT no mater what TDAT did or did not do with QT TDAT may or may not want to sell QT at a later time.

QuoteTracker To Be Finished End of 2011

I would think the non compete agreement would be based on time only and would not depend on whether TDAT discontinued using QT or sold QT unless TDAT sold QT back to Medeved (I do not see TDAT selling QT to anyone); But, I hope my thinking is wrong and QT will live on.

TradeStation Group to be Acquired by Monex Group

IB's Tom Peterffy will receive a nice gain on all that TradeStation stock he bought a few months back. A good decision on his part.

Has InteractiveBrokers (IB) EVER acknowledged and/or fixed an issue you reported?

During the 11 years I have been a client of IB, I have had great success working with IB software engineers fixing issues and bugs. They take their TWS platform seriously and have fixed problems within a day for some problems. For less serious problems it my take longer to get a problem fixed. I...

    Firefox 4

To fix the font rendering problem, try disabling hardware acceleration which is turned on by default in Firefox 4: Go to Options > Advanced > General > uncheck the Use hardware acceleration when available checkbox. I had the font rendering problem as well as some other unacceptable issues with...

    Good alternatives to ThinkOrSwim?

MBTrading and TDAT's ThinkOrSwim are not in the same league as Interactive Brokers (IB).

QuoteTracker No Longer Adding New Features - Being Abandoned

For historical backfill, I am having to switch back and forth between IB and Yahoo depending on what type of product I am looking at in a chart. This is not as seamless as in the past but is doable.

    Quotetracker/Ameritrade historical data

Look at the top of the QT main page > click on "Options" > Click on "Data Source" > Click on "Hist Backfill > Select backfill source from the drop down list. My best guess is Jerry Medved made the effort to get the problem fixed.

    Quotetracker/Ameritrade historical data

Today I tried switching my Historical Quotes source back to "Default Quotes" and found they seamed to be working again.

    Quotetracker/Ameritrade historical data

Looks like TDAT is no longer using the "Default Quotes" for Historical backfill. I switched to Yahoo for historical backfill. I expect QuoteTracker will become unusable in the near future; However, I hope that is not the case. I hope QT will be available and usable for year in the future.

    2 computers running same time

No, because the ones I own are about a 10 year old vintage. Mine are the Aten Masterview Pro CS-1008 and CS-1016 models. I own 2 of each model but only use one. My KVMs are of the hardware type and do not need software or drivers to be installed. How do you want to use your monitors? 4 on each...

    2 computers running same time

I have 5 PCs connected with a KVM (Keyboard, Video, Mouse) box. This has worked great for me for 15 years. The primary monitor is shared by all 5 PCs with the trading PC using the shared monitor plus 11 additional monitors connected directly to the trading PC.
