    USO , huge discount

Here is a weekly chart of USO. It still appears to be rangebound with a brick wall at $55.00. If it retests the lows this would be the third false breakout on a daily basis.

A sense the housing market has bottomed.

The hot areas are starting to see some action. Just like in the stock market the weak hands will be shaken out. I doubt that the current fed chairman will give us a depression style outcome. (warning do not click this link unless you have hours to kill.)...

Hope someone caught this, I know others did. This is a nice reversal in the emini contract. I also put in a chart of the keltner channels with the average true range set to 1 deviation. This can be used to scalp on the lower time frames. The MACD gets you in a little late but still not a bad trade.

oil influences currency or vice versa?

This is a tough question. Globalization has made markets more correlated. gold/dollar, gold/euro, oil/dollar, etc. The canadian/jpy currency pair, for example, is correlated to oil as Canada is oil rich, and Japan has little oil and imports alot. The idea here is that cad/jpy will move up as...

    USO , huge discount

Several reasons. You would need to have a futures account, understand margin, leverage, timeframe/direction issues, the absolute necessity of a sound trading plan including stops. Not that you don't need all that for equities but I think that the USO etf is a more direct way to participate in...

    USO , huge discount

Here is a quick update on good old USO. Here is a weekly chart of the oil etf. It broke thru its resistance and closed above $55.00. Notice the weekly parabolic stop and reverse is sitting close by at $56.04 which is almost the exact 23.60% fibonacci retracement from the high. Looks like oil...

    USO , huge discount

USO closed over its 50 period EMA today. One of the posters in the energy section may have caught the bottom. Looking for a selloff short term, but there is green light to go long here. You could use the current year low as a stop @ $50.25.

    The Oil Bottom Trade

Nice call here, this would have caught about a four point move on the futures so far. It will be interesting to see what's next.
