    Making of a method

Would you agree, db, that a short - wether premarket or not - at roughly 72 after the second test of 74.25 would be in terms of wyckoffian wave analysis indicating incoming selling pressure and would so be reasonable? Apart from that I would like to chime in to all who are thankfully...

Ok, thanks. Anyway, bracket trader is still another great option...

IB - Booktrader 906 no more single click!

Def, could you please guide me to the download of 926 again. I only see 925 for TWS standalone... Thanks

IB - Booktrader 906 no more single click!

Thanks def, these are good news. But can it be that it has been suspended again in 27? I'm using 927.3 and I'm not able to get rid of the confirmation message. There simply is nothing to check the way it is described... "Support for single-click order transmission has been reinstated in...

IB - Booktrader 906 no more single click!

Hi, is it possible that auto confirm is not working with tws version 923.7? Or is there another "workaround"? Thanks!

    Vista and Multiple Monitors

Vista here also tries to kind of restart the ATI driver, which at the end leads to blue screens!! I have Sierra running, which is really a very lean application... Vista is an ongoing horror!

    Vista and Multiple Monitors

I have biggest issues running two monitors under crappy Vista! There are known issues with the ATI drivers, just google. I'm on my way back to XP...

    Using both tradestation and X-Trader

Thanks for clarification. I asked a broker about this and they replied that TT does not offer this charting and they have no plans to implement it. Anyway, good to know. What about charting and data handling in general? Any experience?

    Using both tradestation and X-Trader

Thanks Bernard. I believe I will stay with IB and Ensign. The DTN backfill solves the main IB data problem using volume charts.

    Using both tradestation and X-Trader

My major concern with X-Trader is that X-Study does not offer tick or volume charts, which I believe are an advantage for scalping. Does anybody know it it's possible to connect the TT feed to Ensign for example?

Historical Tick Data options for IB/Sierra?

Hi all, after a few years of wandering around I'm back where I started and use the IB/Sierra combo again, which I believe is very good. But trading futures with tick charts one issue is still open as IB offers only historical minute (second) data. Even Sierra does not offer an appropriate...

    Day-Trading 2.0 for small traders

IronFist, it seems that you try to have as much mechanical components as possible in your plan. This leads to an completely indicator based approach, which leads to late entries and exits. Specially on the fast chart you trade I believe that entering earlier - without artificial indicator...

    Day-Trading 2.0 for small traders

Very good post triplepack, thanks. I found this webinar from Linda Raschke where she goes over this problematic of setting targets and stops. Like jjrvat she also mentions the ATR as a possibility to define them for the timeframe you trade...

    Day-Trading 2.0 for small traders

Inside Bars or Haramis, Engulfing Patterns or Dojis will work from time to time - maybe more often than not. But the beauty of this thread is that jjrvat explains his point of view, when to take a signal and specially when not to take a trade. I'm looking forward to the jjrvat's next posts...

    Day-Trading 2.0 for small traders

I would like to share my opinion on this. The potential to buy a new high (higher low) at this point was very high, because the price was making lower highs and a new low before - on a lower timeframe if you want. In my opinion, if you scalp for a smaller amount of cents, ticks, whatever...

    Day-Trading 2.0 for small traders

From my experience and what you can read on the forums, Ninjatrader is nice. It costs about $60 a month (depends). Zen Fire data feed is very popular and there are a lot of brokers offering this package. I believe it depends on your approach. Interactive Brokers and Sierra Charts could be a...

    Day-Trading 2.0 for small traders

I agree with you, that's what I'm working on at the moment. To find a trigger which is fast and consistent enough for my plan. There is maybe a compromise to make. I plan to scalp on very low charts and have to say, that a lot of my trades I did lately were based on discretionary price...

    Day-Trading 2.0 for small traders

One thing I would like to add. If I write 'watch resistance or support' then I mean that if the next move is maybe going up or down, you watch previous areas where price stalled or turned. You can be prepared even on fastest timeframes. Maybe with the text I wrote before, this is a bit...

    Day-Trading 2.0 for small traders

As far as I can see by viewing your charts, you scalp, like I try to do. For that I believe - and in fact that's something I realized over the last weeks - a large move is nothing! I mean, it's not necessary. You want to be right and take a few ticks here and there. And as jjrvat...

    Day-Trading 2.0 for small traders

From my point of view, you will never know that before, but an indication for coiling action or possible chop are conflicting swings, means Lower High and Higher Low, which happen mostly at stronger support and resistance areas. The AHG thread is a good read on this.
