    New Rig....but xp32 bit is recommended !!!

Agreed XP Pro is time tested and solid, much like NT was durng the 90s compared to windows 98 , Me and all the other crap that was rushed to market back then. Only thing better would be Unix but not enough power users to make a brokerage code for that class of user worthwhile.

    Working Chatroom?

They may be on the board, but I sure as hell don't want them in my trading room. Thats not "whining" thats "protecting" an environment conducive to profitability. Thats good business sense, and the sooner people treat it like a business and less like a day at the races a lot more people would be...

    Working Chatroom?

It can be if you have obnoxious participants that won't shut up and don't add value. That isn't an analogy on the drilling so much as one on a possible "spill" in the drilling process.

    Trading Room Alternative

PCP a conference call with to many on it can be a serious distraction. I used to be on them, and I can't even stand them for the morning when I did have them. I think having a chat allows others to ease into an already cohesive group. I just don't see how thats done on a conference call. I know...

    Trading Room Alternative

We trade, ES, NQ, CL & NG. We need traders to cover, Fx and Asia overnight markets. I keep seeing this need over and over again, and it aligns with my vision to have a virtual trading floor similar to the one I used to work on, where traders cover various interrelated markets in real time...

    Working Chatroom?

There are plenty of chat rooms out there, the trouble comes in finding quality ones. Thats why I had to build my own, cause the ones I looked at for some sort of usable collective analysis and some semblance of trading floor camaraderie were laughable. The free ones, and even some paid ones seem...

    Worst Wall Street Clichés

Buick may owe its survival to China ‘We’ve been given a second chance,’

Partly, I would think more so because Buicks were favored by the leaders of China including Henry P'u Yi the last emperor of China before capitalism slowly crept in. It seems more of a status symbol that one has arrived.

Dealing with coworkers who has poor money management skills

Agreed, I learned that lesson the hard way my senior year of college loaned out 10K to a start-up thinking I was investing in a micro-mezzanine type bridge loan, and would be paid back with high interest once they got some 1st round VC or Angel financing. He had a good idea, but the guy just...

    Saving for retirement or suicide?

TrueRange, Interesting thread, I love cognitive discussions that require introspection and the traversing of ethical and moral gray areas. So I will offer my .02. I say its a good risk/reward. I'm sure others will disagree but if its done later near the end of the term policy, then the...

What's Worse: Missing the Move Entirely or Giving All Your Profit Back?

Now every trader knows, that the secret to survival, is knowing what the throw away, and knowing what to keep, cause every trades a winner, and every trades a loser, and the best that you can hope for is to die in your sleep. :D

What's Worse: Missing the Move Entirely or Giving All Your Profit Back?

If it was part of your plan you have nothing to regret.. Its hard to catch a 10 or 20 point move without enduring a deep retrace now a days, that may reverse and stop you out. On what ever timeframe you trade you will confront this senario. I have given it all back and stopped out many a...
