    Trading schools-good or bad?

One thing to consider about trading schools is that they have a specific method of trading that might not turn out to be fit your personality, time horizon, etc. There are plenty of different styles of trading, and they're not right for every individual. So what if you plop down a few thousand...

    Let's start a tax discussion

Dustin What is the difference between filing as a trader and filing MTM? I always thought they were the same. If not, what exactly do you fill out to file as a trader?

    Trade Prospector Users??

I understand that they are possible entry points when breached. What I don't understand is what the difference is between them. I saw on some other threads that traders will go long at BP1, and short at BP2, (or vice versa?) but I don't understand where this distinction comes from. From...

    Trade Prospector Users??

I guess what really has me confused is this. What do all these trading levels represent? What is BP1, BP2, DS, TC1, TC2, and what are you supposed to do with those levels? The manual didn't explain what the different levels actually mean.

    Trade Prospector Users??

Thanks trader88. OK, 3600 posts at Raging Bull is a lot for me to read, so I'll ask some questions here. First, does it make any difference what key boundary the stock is trading at? For example, when I'm looking to enter a trade, does it make a difference whether the stock is trading at...

    Trade Prospector Users??

A couple of you mentioned a discussion forum at Ragingbull for TP. I'm looking all over their site, and I don't see where you type in TRPSPCTR. Where exactly is this search engine at the website?

    TRADING FOR A CAREER

For health insurance, check out http://www.ehealthinsurance.com I've read in a couple different places that traders who elect mark-to-market don't have to report all their trades individually--you can just figure P&L based on your starting and ending balances (with adjustments for deposits...

Dec. Fortune Mag: $11,000 into 18 Million in 3 years

Mike I probably didn't explain it too well. They actually only have one entry and one exit...but when they send out emails at the end of the day, the hypothetical P&L is calculated based on the absolute perfect exit, and not necessarily the one they called in the chatroom.

Dec. Fortune Mag: $11,000 into 18 Million in 3 years

Rock Keep this in mind when evaluating Millennium. When they post their profit and loss totals at the end of the day, they are using the 'last winner alert' to determine the exit. For example, if they call JNPR long at 74, it then goes to 78, then they call the exit after it goes down to 75...

    M/A Question

Thanks, but your artice explains why the current price might be less, not more, than the takeover price. Plus, your article gave an example of a stock-for-stock merger, not a cash buyout. Still makes no sense.

    M/A Question

Look at this article http://biz.yahoo.com/rf/010222/n22631768.html VSH is bidding $28.82/shr cash for SILI, and it already owns 80% of the common shares. As of this writing, SILI is trading at over $30. (Up from $25 since this announcement) How is this possible? Why are traders willing...

    Appian versus Matrox

I will back up Baron's comment on the service at Appian. I have two computers each with multi monitor cards. I started out with one computer and Win 98. Not being a computer expert, I had a little difficulty setting up my first adapter card. Then I switched to Win 2000; then I attempted to...

Praetorian Are you still hanging out at Tman's chatroom? I emailed him, and he said he was having an open week (this week I think). I assume he means like a free trial. Do you know anything about this? I'm emailing him back to find out, but it took a few days to get a response last time, so I...

    Anyone is using www.falconeye.com ?

I tried their service out about 6 months ago. I don't know if they've changed their service any since then, but I didn't find it very useful back then. The stocks that were highlighted seemed to be for the most part very illiquid. BTW, don't they charge just the exchange fees ($10) for...
