    The Perfect Prop Firm

Other traders should never have to pay the bill for bad traders. 100% of whatever a trader puts up is his hard cutoff. I would say 70-80 is when you start tightening things up in the worst case. -gariki

    The Perfect Prop Firm

Hey Mav, let me chime in just for fun. I think there are atleast 2 models that make sense: 1. Model for profitable traders * Give them leverage * 100% payout * decent commisions so the firm makes money but competetive still (think 3-4/1000) * No stiffing customers with unnecessary...

    The Perfect Prop Firm

hey dude. I've seen so many posts of yours pumping that shop.. dont you get tired. Why not conduct your business with a little more ethics and work on really improving your business instead of pumping your firm on a web board. come on. Final piece of advise; if you really want to promote...

    Firefox 9 - 100% CPU consumption

I hate it when you have to tune a bunch of different things for things to work properly; for most common tasks it should work performant right out of the box. Did you try another browser.. say chrome for example. Its very particular to every person but what i have seen is for the sites i...

Best way to trade multiple ES sytems.

I do pretty much the same. EOD ES and option trades at one firm; intraday ES at a couple of firms - just for redundancy etc. But now that the two brokers i am with for intraday (Mirus and Velocity) are putting in monthly volume minimums, i am closing out the Mirus account. Velocity is slightly...

Tax preference on options on futures?

A little more info. But if for one reason or another you choose trader status you loose 60/40 status - since all p/l will be treated as ordinary income. -gariki

My PC just died, how do I bring it back?

About an year ago i lost a PC - same clicking sound of hard drive and then complete silence. After wasting a ton of time i reckon the harddrive failed; and i had no idea what data was on it and i lost it all. Must have lost a bunch of home videos and pics. After postponing taking backups for...

    Why shareholder vote for splits?

I understand why shareholder vote is required for issuing additional issues; but for splits (both forward and reverse) nothing changes in the sense of % ownership of a share holder. Then why is shareholder vote required? -gariki

Grinding it out, day after day

I would be very very surprised boba even for someone as sharing as lescor to post what you want. Its just a pain to go back all those years and gather all that information for you; if at all possible. If you dont mind a suggestion.. why not use what he has provided over the past 2 years and...

Is puretick the same as pristine? anyone knows the connection

these threads on ET are so funny. I just read another thread where some guy was posting a ton of nonsense and saying he is buying crudeoil calls and calling it a hedging strategy by itself. And then this one.. Or maybe its all left of my sense of humor.. nice one though. :) i -gariki

I know that. And thats why i care about his capital contribution only a little (but its still useful information). I am more interested in the amount of money he put to work - his average working capital. ps: actually, Lescor you probably also know the max capital you put to work. Thats...

Grinding it out, day after day

Lescor, is this still based on roughtly 100k of your capital. What would you say your average capital usage was? (i believe you were using about 1.2mil last year; still the same). thanks! -gariki

    Creating A Daytrading Watchlist

Dow 30 is a good list; liquid. Similarly any other liquid list is good. But.. you are exposed to close to 1 correlation. In long stretches of time (months) when markets go one way or another your list will all look like 1 stock instead of 30 different ones. Another idea is to keep...

    2011: Rebuilding My Battered Account

Yes talk to a good trader tax accountant. But AFAIK, you can carry back only if you trade through an LLC or have filed to trade under "trader status" already. -gariki

T-bonds at 0% why not just keep the money?

you're right; got confused between notes and bills. We were talking about t-bills here. 4-Week Treasury Bill Auction Results and Additional Auction Statistics Term: 4-Week High Rate: 0.000% Investment Rate*: 0.000% Price: $100.000000

T-bonds at 0% why not just keep the money?

oops. i meant t-bills; not t-notes. But i get what you are saying about t-bonds and t-notes above. But t-bills given that they are so close to redemption (4 weeks in this case), if someone is buying them at a premium, they get only face value in 4 weeks. Hence they will loose; right? ps: i...

T-bonds at 0% why not just keep the money?

No. We are taking about t-notes here. But even if they were bonds and have maturity in the next few weeks, same deal.

T-bonds at 0% why not just keep the money?

oh they do. Didnt know that. But that doesnt make sense because with 0% yeild if they rally past 100 they loose to face value upon redemption. So negative interest rate really - YTM wise. -gariki
